I never thought I'd be saying this, but... the Czech Republic is now the favourite in the odds to win Eurovision. I repeat, the Czech Republic is the current favourite to win Eurovision!

Something I wondered about as well. But then again, I don't know why certain countries are so below and others on top.
He sold that meh song 500% in Ukrainian Vidbir, maybe that's why.

I didn't have time for Eurovision this season yet and listened to the first songs and checked the odds only yesterday. What do I see? The Czech Republic is in second place in the odds only behind Bulgaria... What what what???
We don't understand it either, but with few exceptions, we are happy for him.

You know what? I totally hated the song when the studio version was released but Mikolas totally convinced me with his live performance! And I guess that's a really good sign for the big stage in May! So why shouldn't he get a top 5 result or something like that...

I realized this thread is actually mostly about Czech porn and Ritararita isn't too happy about it. Well, at least the Czech Republic is known for having a professional porn industry. Romania only has lots of webcam boys. 
Btw, the title Lie to Me reminds me of that joke in which Pinocchio is told to lie for sexual purposes.
When I first heard the song, it sounded a little annoying to me but after listening to it a few more times and checking out some of the competition, it sounds quite good to me now. In Eurovision, this song really sounds very modern. Of course, that might say more about Eurovision than about the song. It's good to see that the Czech Republic is going for something more modern this year instead of sending yet another female ballad. I liked these ballads but that approach clearly wasn't working. I've decided to give this song 12 points for now, although it's not perfect.

Nice song, good effort Czech Republic you are going to have your best result in Eurovision so far.

I don't think so. Several days ago, Mikolas said in his instastory that changes in the polished version are so marginal (literally only removed three or four problematic words), that he doesn't think it needs to be released as a new version. But who knows, I had no time to stalk instagram since then, perhaps something changed.
BTW, I also watched one truly bizarre live-streamed interview with him on Instagram of local socialite/c-list celebrity Nikol Moravcová. It was one hour long, but sadly not very informative, because this woman tends to be constantly talking about herself, drinking champagne and reading pointless comments of her followers instead of asking questions. However, I was surprised when Mikolas said that Lie To Me (original, released version) was not even recorded in studio, but in his living room, and the music video cost him only 54 000 CZK (cca 2 100 Euro). One of his previous clips - Free - was even cheaper (37 000 CZK/1 400 Euro). Both videos look much more expensive, imo.
