I thought that they HAD a really good song, a fantastic duo singing it and a great all-round package as well!

I'm so bummed :( I was hoping till the last second, but I kinda knew we wouldn't qualify. We got one of the coldest reactions in the arena, I felt like I was the only one cheering for us....
It was tough semi, lots of great performances and Israel was the real highlight of the night which overshadowed us and killed any chances we had imo.

I hope we won't withdraw.

If I could change a thing in tonight's results, it would be to replace Israel with the Czech Republic. The performance was great, I'm sure :cz: was very close to qualifying!

I'd take it a step further and say cancel the semi and make the Czech Republic the only qualifier. Actually, Aminata can be there, and I guess Maraaya can carried by their work last night, but still. Unbelievably crappy result.

They should NEVER give up! Hope never dies!
Czech people need to keep the good Eurovision spirit!
Take a look at Montenegro, debuted in 2007 & didn't qualify from 2007 - 2009 and 2012 - 2013, now they have qualified twice in a row!
There's a place for EVERYONE at eurovision :)

Well :cz: and :at: can be compared quite well when it comes to Eurovision. Both don't get guaranteed points from their neighbours like many other countries do so there is almost no voting base to build on... xshrug And that means that their song hast to be VERY good (or special in a positive way) to do well in Eurovision...

I wonder if this went the same way as Slovakia 2009?

Well, I am not happy, obviously, but to be completely honest, I knew we are not qualifying from the moment of Czech performance. Vocally, they were perfect and I was proud of them. But, somehow... I finally realized what some people meant by "it´s good, but not good enough". Despite the strong voices, Hope Never Dies is actually quite subtle composition, lacking that "punch", "wow factor", "in your face" or whatever you want to call it. It´s a very nice song and after months of listening to it, it definitely has a special place in my heart. But I understand now it´s probably not the right "Eurovision song". So, for me, it was kind of expected (even though I was slightly shocked by Poland or Cyprus qualifying) and it´s not like Marta and Václav are dying or something. ;) But let´s face it - it probably means a definitive end of Czech participation in Eurovision.
