Continuing with my cunning (or maybe just naive) plan to increase our duo´s chances for quaification by letting everybody know how charming people Václav and Marta are, I translated another interview with Václav. This one is more recent (January 2015, just about two weeks before he was revealed as the ESC representative) and Václav is much more relaxed and funny in it than he was in the previous one.

Great job with the translations! xclap

By the way,
Is there any chance for CR to send Listolet next year?
Love them!

Doubt it, but it would be awesome, love them as well.

It was announced Marta Jandová will come back as a judge on the upcoming season of Czechoslovak Idol this autumn ;) xcheer

Last time she was a judge in the 2009 season, in which Max Jason Mai (Slovakia 2012) finished 2nd :D

Yes. I was originally planning to translate more videos, but there are some obstacles I didn´t expect. Especially the impossibility of downloading videos from ČT´s web. I tried at least five different ways how to do it, but none of them was working.

I found out additionally that Václav was also a guest of "Sama doma" (daily show for housewives) the day the song was released, so there actually is interview with him about Eurovision. But I have no idea how to get it. So, for Czech (and possibly Polish?) users which can understand it and are interested, the video is here.

If he had talked a little slower, I guess I would have understood more. :D What I have understood though, is that he said the following:
1) They're going to perform in London;
2) The ESC is not very popular in Czech Republic, but it's a big celebration in other countries;
3) He hopes the Czech audience's attitude towards the contest will change;
4) He explains how their song was selected.

Correct me if I'm wrong. :)

You are more or less right, and yes, his tempo of talking is sometimes hard to follow. :-) Among other things, he said that when he posted on Facebook "I had a duck for a lunch. Yum yum," he received about 2000 of thumbs up, while "We will be in Eurovision" was liked by about 15 people. :)

Well, I guess they saw people complained there's no chemistry and interaction between them :mrgreen:

They still fail on the "chemistry" department tho. Marta's face just gives me bad vibes. I know that she's a rock-chick and being cheesy is definitely not her style, but I still don't see or feel the chemistry between them and those photos look kinda forced to me TBH. :?

Yeah, it looks kinda forced :mrgreen: but I believe the chemistry will be there on stage, so far we haven't seen them perform the song live, we are juding everything just from the still pictures or from the music video. They had a great chemistry in the "meet the performers" video official ESC channel uploaded few days ago, for example :p

Anyway, I had no idea the song was released on iTunes and Spotify already :mrgreen:
You can support it there too. I'm gonna buy the song on iTunes tomorrow to see how high it appears on the chart later :lol:
(my fellow Czechs can also buy it on Supraphonline in FLAC format :cool:)

They look gorgeous on the cover, btw.

I think they have kind of chemistry in a sense of "temperament-relatedness", but more like friends or siblings (especially in the funny beatbox video) than like a romantic couple. And on the picture above they look more like proud mother with son. :D

They actually played mother and son few years ago in musical Hamlet (Václav was Hamlet and Marta was queen Gertrude) and what is even more disturbing, Josef Vojtek - frontman of Kabát from ESC 2007 - played king Claudius in it.

Marta's facial features slay me everytime. xfaint and I worship her ponytail hairstyle :eek: she has to keep it for the contest, it isn't negotiable.

A dramatic ballad performed by a duet (woman with green eyes, man with beard), competing in 8th place of 2nd Semifinal.

I really hope that viewers will notice the main difference - that Marta and Václav are incomparably better singers.
