God FORBID! Thanks but no thanks. In that case I would miss whole ESC. More shameful song we couldn't send, bottom of all bottoms.

WHAT!?!? 'Moja Stikla' is the best entry Croatia sent since 1999!!! I loved it and it deserved such a better outcome. Now those type of entries are the very reason of ESC existence imo!

Hmmm, I'm just as pessimistic about this as you guys but maybe they'll come up with some contemporary klapa somehow??? (if that's even possible). I haven't seen one klapa song I liked so far so I'm not holding my breath though.

I'm not that surprised or sad about this decision. Klapa is the music I grew up listening to, and it would be nice to finally see that part of croatian heritage on ESC. If such a song would've been sent in the 60's it would do good, but nowadays I don't see it getting more than 20 points in the semi. Although I must praise HRT for not getting all trashy (like they did in 2011.). Personally I'd like to see Klapa Kampanel, Klapa Libar, Cambi or Klapa Sveti Florijan... the ones I really don't wanna see us representing are Klapa Intrade (+ Tomislav Bralić) or Klapa Maslina because their melodies are literally always the same (lyrics too).

I was judging the YT videos posted on one of the previous pages, it looked like the same band on all the videos and there was even a Wiki-link to some band with the name Klapa
So Klapa is a genre??? Well that changes things I guess... I feel so stupid because I honestly thought it was ONE band with ONE style of music and here I was totally against the idea with no actually understanding of what it was
So WHAT exactly is "Klapa" then? The clips on the other page sounded kinda same-y and I didn't like any of them so I was jumping too fast on the "No to Klapa bandwagon" ... is their examples of different takes at this genre?

I like this I'd totally support an entry like this for ESC !
FYI guys, I just realised it says that it doesn't need to be a klapa song strictly but it can be pop song with klapa elements. Imagine another Proljeće.

Even I personally like klapa music, I'm not to confident that ordinary European audience will understand it on right way. And that's the reason why I believe that song will not be in classical klapa manner, probably some mix of klapa singing style an pop elements in music. And that can be very good combination
And much much better option would be Istrian or Slavonian ethno music (if HRT want than kind of music)

Well, I think maybe this could be okish for esc. First one I even wouldn't called klapa's song. It is kinda pop-rock song just sang by klapa. Other one is very nice, but it is some kind of mix of Slavonian + Dalamatian (klapa) music. And song should has official video like that one.
