Idk if anyone realized but the song is 2:40 in length, I hope they are preparing some crazy ideas for the 20 extra seconds they have. An intro with traditional mugham singing? (like the guy in 2012)

Or extending the outro, the speed getting even higher until our eardrums explode?

Most likely have her come in "Cleopatra" outfit before transforming herself into "Mata Hari" and at the end transform herself to the real Efendi - the next iconic kween.

I still don't get the hype. I just relistened to it and it just sounds weak. 'weak' is the best way to describe it. Maybe it's her lethargic dancing, the cleopatra rip-off parts, or the lack of a storyline - just weak.

I just downgraded it from a 7 to a 4. It's still decent, but compared to the hype it gets, bad. If this wasn't so overhyped and if it wasn't Azerbaijan I would likely be kinder. (Like I am kinder to, say, croatia)

I don't know, as soon as the beat kicks in in the second part of the strophe, I can't help but move along with it – if an obvious dance song makes me do that, it has fulfilled its job So darn catchy.

Just relistened to Cleopatra like... a dozen times and then to Mata Hari again; hoo boy. The difference is pretty pronounced as Mata Hari is just a lazy, stark version of its predecessor.

Downgrading to a . I still like it but it's nowhere near as special as ClearPatrrra was.

While I do agree that Cleopatra sounded more fresh and interesting, I think this is way more easily digestible and the better song. They spiced up the original formula just enough for it to sound fresh and that massive drop instead of a chorus really is strong enough to carry the whole thing, me thinks. This might be down to cultural differences tho, as this type of music is very popular in the Balkan region. Love the video too, she is stunningly beautiful and has a lot of personality, it really doesn't need to be glossy and expensive in her case. Great color scheme, fits well with the seductive and exotic vibe of the song. If they could just copy/paste this on the main stage, I'd be happy.
Also, when was the last time we had a proper oriental banger, was it Golden Boy? They tend to do well, I mean Hadise even completely stopped singing her song after the second verse and it still placed 4th, what a queen!

Yeah but it's a quality pop track for me. In my opinion better than Serbia in this year which is currently very popular.
