Also Austria doesn't have to worry about the semi's because they are automatically qualified.

It would be really upsetting to see the work this win has done in Austria all be undone and people return to previous opinion if they get some bad results following this. ORF need to work hard to secure big names with a great song to keep interest going.

But Lena and Jedward were in the final twice, but Valentina was once and twice stayed in the semis. So if Conchita compete againit will be like Lena

Conchita already said directly after her victory she doesn't want to defend her title ;)

I don't see any reason why she would want to, she's got more than most Eurovision artists could even dream of now

As far as I know, Conchita thinks about a Grammy right now, which I think it's a good decision. I'd like to see her next year as well, but I've always thought that it's nice to have new participants with each year that comes.

I bet she'll sing some new song of hers, though, but not as a participant.

I want Charlee from Austrian NF in 2011 to represent Austria next year!!

It was so catchy, good and quirky!! :D :)

Her another song is even better!

Performance from "The Dome":

Geht es nach den Usern von VIENNA.at, wird Conchita Wurst auch im kommenden Jahr auf der Song Contest-Bühne stehen. Allerdings nicht als Teilnehmerin, sondern als Moderatorin. Wer sie dabei unterstützen soll, lesen Sie hier.
My horrible German + translator tells me how Conchita could be part of it as a moderator.
Any real chances for it? I so want to see it!

When I translated it said: "If it goes to the users of VIENNA.at Conchita Wurst will be on the Song Contest stage in the coming year. However, not as a participant, but as a presenter. Who will support them, read here." Basically if Vienna gets it, Conchita will apparently be a presenter.

It's always interesting case, how winning country will do after victory. Maybe they'll host a national final and choose a decent song, maybe again a internal selection. But what later? Austria again will be country, which sometimes qualify and sometimes not? (like e.g. Finland).

I remember reading somewhere that they plan on doing a NF like Melodifestival to help drum up interest and the ball rolling (which i really hope they don't). I think Austria pulled a good one with Conchita and was not to do well, let alone win. I'd imagine, unless they select real artists with modern songs instead of going for the cliche songs like they did in 2011 and 2013 & 2014 (even though 2013 is one of my favourites of that year) then I expect them to fall back into previous patterns of qualification. Fingers crossed that they can select great entrants in the future.

We can probably kiss goodbye to any big or well regarded names then. That 0.00000001% chance there was of getting Soap&Skin has now turned into 0% xcry1

They have really missed an opportunity to internally select a big name. I will never understand why countries feel the need to hold massive NF's after getting a good result. You didn't get a good result with that method so why use it?
