So I know the 6 songs that are in the running now

Today each act performed 2 new songs that were written and produced in cooperation with national and international songwriters. The coaches (Nazar, Anna F., TheBossHoss) commented on every performance and decided which of the songs each artist should compete with in the final.

Here's my verdict: I'm not completely happy but I probably got up my hopes a bit too high. The songs were mostly good and I even like 4 of the potential entries a lot (the other two are meh) - but there was nothing that completely blew me away. ;_; Although one of the finalists has EPIC backing singers which will also please RainyWoods.

These international songwriters/producers were involved:

Julie Frost
Jimmy Harry
Ian Dench
Sharon Vaughn
Philipp Schwär

And these Austrian ones:

Lukas Hillebrand
Vlado Dzihan
I-Wolf
Patrick Pulsinger

Julie Frost wrote Germany 2010 btw.

Interestingly enough, the Austrian producers are mostly alternative (I-Wolf and Patrick Pulsinger are big names in the alternative scene) whereas the international ones are pretty mainstream. xthink

Well, it depends. As I said, I really like 4/6 of the songs that made it to the final - the coaches thankfully mostly picked the more genuine over the more generic songs. And all 6 songs are different from each other. I think I have a hunch about who's going to win the whole thing and it would certainly make an interesting entry. xthink

I have not seen any of the three shows but i hope that renato unterberg will make it. no matter what song they would perform it would be something exceptional and stand out of the crowd (which so far is very boring anyways). like andy knoll said, austria should send something cool this year.

since they have so many songwriters involved i guess it will be more of the acts who dont write their own songs.

Well, no one just got a finished song from a songwriter. They all wrote the songs together with them - some artists also used their own existing material already and worked on that.
