I wanna be close to my mother
I wanna belong to the world
A mirror that shows technicolor
I'd be a magnificent girl

But everything is frustrating
Everything moves along
Faster than I can relate to

But I got power, yeah
Midnight is the hour, yeah
Time to take off your cloaks

Techni-technicolour
Techni-technicolour
If we stand together
We can do whatever
Techni-technicolour
Techni-technicolour
If we care for one another
We can

I wanna know that there's a future
That I can move myself towards
And yet I promise you
Yes all you nasty dudes
I don't need certainty
To get my pot of gold

Everything is frustrating
Everything moves along
Faster than I can relate to

But we got grace, yeah
We got style and lasers, yeah
Time to take off your cloaks

Techni-technicolour
Techni-technicolour
If we stand together
We can do whatever
Techni-technicolour
Techni-technicolour
If we care for one another
We can

Shine
Shine
Shine
Shine

Techni-technicolour
Techni-technicolour
If we stand together
We can do whatever
Techni-technicolour
Techni-technicolour
If we care for one another
We can

Shine

That live performance is a full Jenna Maroney "Muffin Top" moment. I am encouraged to give this song a second look solely on the basis of how bad the live was.

Oh well, let's just give her the benefit of the doubt and treat the first 'live' performance as a trial run.
Hopefully she can improve by the time the 'live' shows come.

I loved the live performance. Didn't watch the same one? She was performing in a fricking open air stadium.

Wonder if Montaigne will release a music video for Technicolour - no mention of one on Twitter, but would be good to have for sure, especially in the absence of an official NF live video. Not sure what the Eurovision YouTube channel would use as the official video xthink

I think the Aussie delegation has to get those coins, maybe do a fundraiser again, to get the magic on stage in Rotterdam. I won't lie and say that I haven't been thinking and watching Kate's performance lately xlove

So the performance is the official video on the ESC channel
saving every dollar and penny I see, though I do wonder whether Sony Australia will pay for anything?

Did Montaigne released a music video last year?
I can only remember the nf live performance

No it was only the NF performance, but I figured because there was no NF performance this year, they might have done a music video to make the official video that would go on the ESC channel on YT, but seems that won't be happening. That Mardi Gras performance is just not the best at all

Well I think her live was very good, i listened for the first time to this song today with the official MV (live).
This song is an ear worm, I really like it and do think it will do quite well ! it's catchy, modern yet it doesnt fit the "codes", which is what I love !
Good luck australia, thank you for sending constant quality and good artists :p

It’s pretty disappointing they have released the performance at the stadium as the official video. The sound is slightly better though, they have modified it. But if I had been them, I would have used the studio version instead of that mix of live/studio performance. The song is a grower for me, but as I have said I wish she sang better live.

Same but she said she strained her voice during rehearsals because she was so nervous and wanted to deliver. If that is true or just an excuse, I don't know.
She didn't completely fall flat so it indicates that she has the vocal abilities. Sometimes you just can tell that an artist will never be able to deliver a song live and I don't think Montaigne is one of those.

It will be good in May I'm sure.Even Luca Hänni sounded fine in the Finale and he's a weaker singer that barely ever sings live, so she will make it work.

A very small detail, but one of the greatest impressions of this song for me is the way she sings "Everything is frustrating". She almost cherishes it with the way she sings it. As someone who goes through a rough time recently due to unexpected changes in my life, it warms me up on the inside.

If she can improve herself vocally until the actual contest, this song could be my personal favorite this year.

I don't see much difference compared to most of other :au: entries, except for Zero Gravity - I don't feel much substance behind the song. Montaigne gives a nice workout to her vocals and there is the techni-technicolour hook, but I find the overall package way too over the place. There's a lot going on, mostly for the sake of a lot of things going on.

At least I like it better than Don't Break Me Down. I also prefer this simpler staging - though that's probably comparing apples and oranges at this point. Overall I feel it could be a grower and has quite a few redeeming qualities, except I'd heard it for the first time quite some time ago already and I just keep having that exact same feeling.

I didn't care for the studio version at all, the song would have occupied a very low place in my ranking just based on that but the live version is actually pretty awesome. I can't put my finger on what makes such a difference. I think it's something about the mix/balance between her voice and the unusual sounds in the pre-chorus/chorus which seems to work better live.

In her song, "Ready", she actually sings; "I, I guess I'm frustrated" at the very beginning of the song! Technicolor is a bit similar to Ready
