You & I starts good but then gets really generic. Doubt Armenia will go for it.

Re: ARMENIA 2018

Okay I was afraid this would be a dreadful bunch of songs today, too melodramatic and silly lyrics...that was until I listened to Asmik and "You And I" What a party banger, great accent (must live in US or UK surely?) and the chorus is really strong. Not sure yet if it works for ESC, but I like it a lot. Funny how Armenia has had one really strong song in each bunch they put out so far, first Tamar, yesterday Kamil Show and now Asmik. Wonder if we get an another contender tomorrow.

Edit: came to think of it, it sounds like a song that Agnes would have in a comeback to Melodifestivalen...and would easily be top 3 there with it...:D

Re: ARMENIA 2018

Best songs so far (for me) are Asmik, Sevak and Nemra. But nothing so far tells me that Armenia will be doing any better than last year. But of course certain parts of the fandom will attack to Asmik because it's a "bop" or a "banger" or something. They are already calling her the winner of Eurovision. The delusion is is strong. Armenia now have 5 songs to save their Eurovision.

You & I has the most contemporary mainstream sound I've ever heard in Eurovision, and that's a great thing. It sounds like a unconditional radio hit, we'll just have to wait and see if that's what Armenia wants to send!

Eurovision has never been about radio hits. Contemporary and mainstream aren't automatically good qualities. You have to appeal to all demographics and age groups, not just young people. And ironically the reason I like You & I is because of the retro feel throughout the song.

Re: ARMENIA 2018

Asmik song is good, very well produced, but for some people to call it an ESC winner  they need a reality check
From the past 2 days I also like Kamil - ''Puerto Rico'', it's good fun but I don't think I would send it to Lisbon :lol: still good effort;
Sevak - ''Qami'' is a very good song, being in armenian is a plus, it also reminded me of Aram MP3 song, tho not as memorable;
Gevorg Harutyunyan - ''Stand Up'' is a very dramatic one, rather theatrical which I really appreciate. This one is def one of my favorites!
Angel - ''Heartbeat'' and Zhanna Davtyan - ''Unbreakable'' are also good ones

Judging by other people's opinions and the popularity of the acts I think, so far, there are 4 favorites: Tamar, Sevak, Kamil and Hasmik, all of them have good songs so it's a great sign ;) Didn't have much expectations about this NF but I'm pleasantly surprised with the overall quality!

I know that it's not. But it's nice for a change to have ONE song that sounds like something you actually could hear on the radio (who am I kidding who listens to radio anyways) or the Spotify top list. I hear the retro elements too and that's one other aspect of why I think it's so good! :) As I said, we'll just have to wait and see if it will generate votes in Depi Evratesil to get to Eurovision, because if it gets there I think it will at least score quite good with the jury.

Why you don't like it? I think performance will be EPIC! :p

But from the 3rd bunch, OMG!

Those lyrics... this is fantastic.. xlove xheart

Looking for magic around
Living through darkness i found
The real way and truth and meaning of my life
And now I’m standing here to say

I want to live forever I want to live forever
Forever and heaven Will hear my voice and answer me, I breathe

Turning the pages of life
I’ve never felt so alive
The real sense of love I found just in the one
And now it’s time to say

Re: ARMENIA 2018

I think some people need to relax a little and maybe should read one or two times extra. I saw some comment on youtube in the video for Asmiks song about "Eurovision-winner", but here it is just RainyWoods" that just wrote that ""You & I" is the first song i've heard this year from any National Final that has made me think "this could win Eurovision". It doesn't say that she will win, it doesn't say that RainyWoods is sure that she will win or anything, He just likes the song very much and that it COULD win, cause it has potential.
And yes I can agree on that. A Eurovisionwinner is often very big or very special when it comes to a song, which this song indeed is. We are talking about Armenia, a country that when they send a good song, the Armenians in Europe goes insane and votes like crazy on their phones. If this works live, looks good on stage, gets selected and Asmik has two good nights in may, then who knows, it might be Yerevan 2019. I though for one think it has come one more potential Eurovision winner, and that is "La Forza" in Eesti Laul, which also could have a few good nights and then surprise. And it is just the middle of january, I am sure that more songs will be selected for Eurovision in Lisbon, that can be called "potential Eurovision-winners" so when one says it, don't put it down immedietly, cause you never know if you are wrong.

You & I certainly sounds like something that could garner votes, but on a personal level I'd rather not see it end up too high in the NF/Eurovision. Yes, it's immediately catchy, but past that I'm not getting much from it. It could, and most likely would, grow on me – as virtually every song chosen tends to in the end – but it's not really my cup of tea.

After listening to a few of the other songs on offer, though... Qami is much more my sort of thing. I'd love to see it going to Lisbon. Emotional, national-language, nice vocals, and a gradual build... yes please, Armenia! It's not perfect, but it's absolutely one of the stronger songs to come out of this NF season so far in my book.

You & I is far too unoriginal and generic to be considered a potential ESC winner. It's the sort of thing you would hear on an Ibiza album of the 90s and interchangeable with others of its genre. On song quality alone Sevak is the strongest track in Armenia this year imho. Interested to see Tamar perform Poison. While it's very simple ethno pop, the chorus is undeniably catchy, her performance may help to bring it to life more & I'd certainly favour it over You & I among the uptempo choices. Mariam's Fade is 2nd best of the ballads for me behind Sevak.

My new personal favourite from the NF. This sounds like something i'd get into outside of the contest. Very warm and lovely, and has an honest production. Doesn't sound anything like a Eurovision entry at all, which could be a positive thing in it's favour if it was selected. It would be something different for Armenia. Gives off a beautiful nocturnal vibe.

I'd be really happy with either Lusine or Asmik.

This one caught me straight away as well. Totally different from anything in the NF. Youtube comments full of people saying "good, but not for Eurovision". I still don't know what that means. But I know they were saying that about Salvador as well.

Today's songs I feel were the highest quality of the lot, but I doubt any of them can win.

1. Lusine Mardanyan - If You Don't Walk Me Home : 7.5/10
2. Gata Band - Shogha : 7/10
3. Mariam - Fade : 6/10
4. Robert Koloyan - Get Away With Us : 5.5/10
5. Maria's Secret - Escape : 5/10

Not a bad song among them. I think Lusine will be haunting live, but I think the winner be one of Asmik, Tamer and Sevak.

So, here are my top 5 songs from the 20.

1. Lusine Mardanyan - If You Don't Walk Me Home
2. Asmik Shiroyan - You & I
3. Nemra - I'm a Liar
4. Gata Band - Shogha
5. Sevak Khanagyan - Qami

I do fear for Armenia's hopes at ESC. Remember the hype "Fly With Me" got from the fandom? It crashed and burned at Eurovision, and it was far superior to anything Armenia can send this year. Whatever they send, a revamp and an insane stage show is mandatory.

Great NF in general! There are many great songs, personally I really like Shogha and Unbreakable but doubt Armenia will go for them.

Re: ARMENIA 2018

Best of today has to be Lusine and "If You Don't Walk Me Home". Very different song, her voice reminds a mixture of Amy Lee from Evanescence and Nathalie Imbruglia. A beautiful ballad that could surprise in Eurovision with the right staging.

So I have four winners, one for each day, and these are in order of reveal:
"Poison (Ari, Ari)" Tamar Kaprelian
"Puerto Rico" Kamil Show
"You And I" Asmik Shiroyan
"If You Don't Walk Me Home" Lusine Mardanyan

Don't know how to rank these actually, they are quite different from each other, but I like them equally. All will depend on how it looks live I guess. Good NF Armenia, looking forward seeing of any of these, or some other song will win.
