I cannot stop listening to Zjerm and Mbaje. Absolutely PRECIOUS gems, the pair of them.

But why 30 Songs? most of the songs are so boring and nothing special.

You must be new to FiK

They always select a large number of entries (around 20-32 in general). Similar to Sanremo it isn't just a National Selection but a traditional festival of Albanian music that has been going on way before they debuted at ESC. This is why you get a bunch of extra male rock ballads or just plain rock at every edition even if they aren't competitive whatsoever.

Its also why we have seen past famous FiK songs commemorated on Nostalgia night of late. I personally think this is the strongest edition of FiK in years.

Just listened to the following 3 songs and here are my scores:

Elvana gjata – karnaval 100/10

Shkoder electronica – Sperm 10/10

Ardit cuni – amane 10/10

"Amane" is amazing, "Zjerm" is great, "I pare" lyrics are albanian version of "Gnezdo Orlovo" and "Karnaval" is bad. Others are mid or bad.

It's definitely come to a point where I'm now detoxing from Zjerm pre-emptively so I'm not utterly disappointed when it loses to Mbaje, yeah.

Which is weird because I'm spoiled for choice. This FiK has about a dozen songs I would take over ANYTHING last year's FiK had on offer. I am pleased even with the lesser offerings like a "Karnaval". I should be happy with the winner too.

But "Zjerm" is just a "Dinle" waiting to happen. Everyone likes it. EVERYONE. I only hope the Albanians like it enough so they can send it completely unrevamped to Basel, and earn themselves a strong 11th place in the Grand Final.

I've never been to Albania, but if Albanian men are even half as beautiful as Albanian women, I want to live in that country. I'm a huge fan of Orgesa Zaimi because her song is the best in the selection. It also helped me calm down after listening to the songs from this year's Benidorm Fest
