Are songs which participated in NSC allowed? :oops:
You can choose a song to which we gave 12 points... Why was this week needed for the search? :mrgreen:

This does not apply to the show and hosting - everything is great here! (y)

As with all Spinoffs, previous NSC songs weren't banned as such so long as each nation was represented by a new artist and song that they have never sent to NSC/WLSC. How you decide your copycat and personal rankings is entirely your call based on your regular taste and voting criteria xup

Interesting to see male Kpop for Kimmystan.
It's not what I would associate with my country or taste but interesting approach indeed. I am curious to see who choose it ;; especially the votes haha.

Love the show and your creativity, very well done Gary 💖
I see the person who entered for Hypjø rather had an early Serenate & Clair kind of approach 🙀

Also - I echo ferret’s statement in that it is a bit lazy to send a past NSC entry the nation had given 12 points to, no offense but yeah 🤡

Well they might not have known they had given 12. Not everyone knows extensively the voting patterns of every player so it's a bit of a reach to assume it's a lazy pick - if they did know then yeah it is. For me I struggle to remember which countries I voted for 5 editions ago let alone how anyone else voted. :lol: That's why there is stats and records of personal voting.

I was really hoping that whoever had me didn't kneejerk to Cascada, which is what usually happens for me in such themes so I'm super pleased with that. Good job to whoever had me then. :D

Also, just to clarify on a query that I've been asked...

When voting as your assigned nation (your copycat nation), you can vote for your "real life" nation. However, as is the case in regular NSC/WLSC contests, when you decide your personal ranking you cannot vote for the song that was sent under your "real life" nation.

Hope that makes sense - don't worry, I'll keep you right if you need to amend your votes in any way xlove

My assumption was made on the basis that they may have gone through NBS’ votes from prior editions. I sure looked at how/for what type of songs my assigned nation tends to vote before I made my decision regarding their entry. Owing that we are also supposed to emulate the nation’s voting patterns, I don’t think it is that big of a reach.

When I vote as my copycat nation can I vote for Kimmystan?
Can you vote for your own song as the copycat?

Or can't i vote for either of them either way?

I'm not even sure if Oleg is referring to the choice of NBS? He's usually very well versed on how people voted. What you said is based on an assumption everyone did it as you did. For me I didn't even check voting, I looked at what they had sent and then picked something I knew they would enjoy and would fit in line with that. Anywho, I don't think it's that much of a big deal so don't want to make it. Especially when we don't even know what song it's about. :lol: In the same respect with my previous post i'm happy people weren't lazy with the choice for me, so it is what it is.

------

I think this is probably one of my favourite spin off themes actually, seeing how well or not people know each other. As for who I have, I apologise in advance if I'm a mess with the copycat votes. :lol:

Well ferret’s message reads as though they are disappointed about the fact that someone had sent an NSC entry for their nation. But I agree that it is written ambiguously and it is not clear if they are implying that Open Season was their 12 or not. Regardless, Josef Salvat - Open Season was in NSC for Lukeland.

By that logic you are applying what you had done (or lack thereof) to someone’s experience too. I am just following what the concept seems to entail.

But yeah, if NBS really had given 12 points to that entry, I am still of the opinion that it isn’t cute.

Not that it matters, but New Bander State didn't enter the main roster until 149 and that song was entered in 127 - so people would be required to not only remember main roster votes but also individual Waliju Votes.

I hope this doesn't ruin anyone's enjoyment of this contest. Different participants clearly used different methods for deciding their entries, but I'm happy that everyone stuck within the selection criteria that I set out.

Best of luck to all copycats! xup

I can't say for sure that it was 12 points... But this was the second edition of the NSC, after the NBS joined the Waiting List!

Obviously, the copycat knows about other contests of this forum, where I sent other songs of Josef Salvat several times. Then it says not about laziness, but rather about cunning. :lol::lol: It is a pity that in this case the copycat did not pay attention to how much I avoid popular songs with a lot of views... :mrgreen: But maybe it's not so important. Happy listening everyone! :)

Garibald Ditz of Moisantia, a question:

✓ COPYCAT VOTE: Submit the Top 10 votes channeling the taste of your assigned nation (ESC style :12::10::8:-:1:)
✓ PERSONAL VOTE: Submit your own Top 10 to reflect your own nation's taste
(ESC style :12::10::8:-:1:)

For these sets I would assume that when simulating copycat nation I am forced to blank entry of copycat nation and when voting Utopolis I am forced to blank Utopolis, but is this actually correct?

Yes that's correct - the nation you are voting as for each set of votes cannot receive any points in that set of votes ;)

It's what I thought too but I got more confused by the earlier explanation ;;

Same goes to songs we sent in other contests like WV, OM and FSC, that was a trap that someone could easily fall into. :lol:
I assume that it wasn't done intentionally so I forgive whoever did that. Especially if that someone isn't in WV or just missed that it was my entry some time ago. ;)
I might have done something similar because I didn't have the time and the means to do the best research, and my memory starts to fade with age. I just think that the song and the artist I sent as a copycat isn't associated with the nation in any way. :LOL:
