Kind of expected my copycat to do poorly in real life nation voting. I flopped hardly in WV with that song, so last place was somehow expected.

But yay for getting a top 5 with my choice for ::tad and a bronze medal in the ratings xcheer

It was my entry in WV some time ago, if this tells something about it.
And I searched and found nothing... 🙈😅
I'm surprised! But not surprised it was in WV in particular. I don't participate there and don't know in detail how it works, but it's a frequent case when the song I found and thought wasn't somewhere before, actually already were in WV

Now that all my official hosting duties are done (and breathe!)

Thanks again for taking part in this Spinoff and I'm glad to see some of you enjoyed it as much as me!

As for the ::moi copycat, Vaso, I see you went all in for the hardcore side of our taste (which tied in nicely with our NSC 195 entry) with a little sprinkling of old-school bubblegum. It was a fun song definitely, but I have to be honest - I've never really enjoyed Blumchen's songs enormously. Style was bang on, but the vocals needed some work :p Still - you grabbed an Onyx Copycat Award for how well everyone thinks you matched my taste, so bravo xclap

My choice for ::yap was actually the very first potential that I found around an hour after doing the allocation draw for the copycats - with Yaponesia's enormous NSC history and with how varied their entries and taste can sometimes seem, it seemed like a daunting task but I decided to go for quirky "easy-listening electro" since I feel that was a common-theme that seemed to come through from your previous NSC entries. I'm so happy to see that you appreciated the song chosen xlove

Congrats Kim for your work on selecting that track for Oosingimaed - really great job, and getting points from almost all juries (even as copycats) pretty much confirms that you nailed it in this Spinoff!

And I was so so sure that Copycat ::tuz would win this contest - that song was INSANELY catchy and it just sounded like an NSC winner to me. Second place is great still ;)

Nice to see Svobodnia winning the real vote ✨ I chose this particular entry for Svobodnia because I felt like it embodied their energy/vibe well. I personally think it’s a bop myself, so I had to send it! 🌈

Regarding Hypjø, obviously Steffan nailed our votes but the entry was not necessarily something I would enter today - it was definitely on point for early-SCL though and the song was decent overall! 😊 I would definitely have voted for it if another country had sent it.👍

Great job Gary! Another flawless hosting in the basket! 💖💅
Og grattis Kimmy! 🥵

Oh wait 😱😱
I wouldn't have noticed if you didn't write because, I guess, scorewiz was incomplete, and I was supposed to download excel to see full results

Wow thank you for choosing that bop for us and bringing ::svo flag to the top of real vote xlove
And yeah, as I said, it fits my taste really well, so the fact it won in real vote also makes my day (evening 😏). And also, how you said, that you felt it embodied our energy/vibe, also warms my heart and unites xheart
High five! ✋🏻

Oh sorry for any issues on the Scorewiz. I thought I had double-checked it but it might not be quite right. The excel scoresheet is definitely correct ;)

Congrats Kimmystan/Oosingimaed and thanks Gary for hosting, this has actually been a super fun spin off to take part in.

For me as ::nbs. I was so close 10/10 there  I was going to put Solentoya as the 1, but then thought "nah, He wont vote for that, even as filler". I stressed so hard over the voting and kept moving stuff around, I even had Tamausia & Deltannor on 12 for a while. I mixed the order a bit, but with 9/10 and the highest score for tha part I think I did good. For the song choice... Well I actually focused more on the WV database, rather than the NSC one and not on results/voting patterns. I was actually going to send this for you [[LINK]] originally, but then I saw you sent it to WV so I shelved that idea. I think this Josef song is totally something you'd send - albeit more likely more WV than NSC. You say you don't send songs with a lot of views but your current WLSC congrats entry literally has 50,000,000 views and you've sent the likes of Dean Lewis, Sia etc and many songs with millions upon millions of views. No matter, what I'm trying to say is that I think I did a great job imitating you.

For the ::sol entry for me. Connor I was thinking maybe it was you when it turned out the singer was Swedish. I think you picked super well for me and my country. Although I dare say I wouldn't actually send this song myself (i'd vote for it ofc though), perhaps I would WLSC. I love it as a choice, and you gave it some proper thought instead of being Lol is Ashley, send Cascada xoxoxo. Thank you.

Wait a minute. I'm sending these songs too soon! Then, when no one knew who Dean Lewis was, I sent him first on this forum! :lol:Just like Pivovarov with Deja Vu. If I played with every popular song that I like, I would be in the top 6 all the time. But this is not the main goal. Or do you think I didn't know about the most famous song of Salvat when I first sent my entry to WV?
As for WLSC, this is a completely different contest. I sent some well-known songs there intentionally.

First of all, thank you to Gary for this multi-level exciting Spin-off! xup

It was not a problem for me to choose a song for Rumia. In fact, I view a new folk-rock albums regularly. But sending another pirate song would be very boring. By the way, Кибер-Спасское is a real village in Russia, the Omsk oblast. The population in 2010 was 123 people... Quite an interesting band. I am glad that some participants rated it very well! :giggle: Thanks!

King of sending big names before they get big xheart

I remember I sent Dean Lewis before anyone else did on the other forum. With the song waves which I heard in the first season of Riverdale.

Also sent Billie Eilish before she got hipster and mainstream at the same time xheart

if you look back at a country's history you can always find artists that are known now but weren't back then.
Super glad you liked it. I feel so happy knowing I have succeeded in impressing you/the real nation! 🥰 The way Svobodnia has kind of won two spinoffs in a row- 🔥😱
Sorry for using it ;; I didn't think about it haha

I would have sent "Waves" much earlier, but this song did not impress me, but it demonstrated the potential of the artist. At first, I was waiting for a suitable song, and then I waited about a month for the presentation of the video. Opening new names is a rather complicated process in fact. ;)

Maybe you remember that.

Was the brainscan successful? Maaaybe?

Congrats copycat Öösingimäed, real-life Kimmystan, and copycat Svobodnia, real-life Hypjø!
(I'm kinda confused by which results are the official ones, considering the copycat R-K/real-life Yapo bronze here is entirely fictitious  In the end, not many people liked that entry after all ;_; )

Anyway, speaking of Rehi-Kaita, we may not have crossed paths very much until now, bar the odd spinoff. But, what a privilege it has been to discover your WLSC repertoire xheart Veeeeery interesting and unique stuff there (I've had your Ном - Нина entry constantly running around my head since hearing it). And as a result it was difficult to do your copycat justice, but I tried to play with the electronica/industrial x obscure album track angle. I wasn't quite able to reach the extents of your hardcoreness or originality, but I hope this entry was somewhere along the right lines. I would say I was relatively lucky to get Rehi-Kaita in any case; there was a lot to play with that aligns with my own taste  Will be looking forward to your eventual NSC debut. xcheer

I already commented on the Yapo entry, but I had no idea it was our dear host himself! Good choice Gary, I appreciate your take on Yaponesia as electronic easy-listening as a median. We do have a cheesy side too though, which I wouldn't have objected to seeing here. ;)

Great fun all around, I'm becoming a fan of these unique takes on spinoffs, so more of them please! Well done everybody!

P.S. I was sooo tempted to post that I thought Arirang and Joseyeon were behind copycat Kimmystan and Hypjø ... you guys are too obvious :kr:

I knew Mike was choosing the Kimmystan song if it was a kpop lover hahah.
Arirang would've chosen something female based I think. I often like his songs in isc ;;
