"Playing With Numbers" wasn't my favourite when I initially heard all the songs as studio versions... but it was by far the best live. The other songs bombed massively... I think Ireland made the best choice, and I hope they qualify! It's a moving and textured song, sang very well. The only shame is that it's a grower, so might not do well without "instant appeal". I really quite like it now myself. In my top five so far.

THE GOOD

-It's a song with sweet vocals and acoustic instrumentals, so it does the job.
-Again, it's always a good thing when the performer helps write and compose the song.

THE BAD

-The song is quite boring, though it is not as boring as one entry in particular (Denmark).

THE VERDICT

Although the attempt is nice, I have doubts about this song even making it into the Final. 6 points

Kat Mahon sounds like 80's or 90's, while this one sounds 00's which is more modern :)

There are good old fashioned songs and bad modern ones. Modern is not a synonym for quality.
Kat Mahon had a simple song with touching lyrics and a wonderful melody that would have been remembered. The actual song is boring and a million times heard.

I like a lot because it's a simple song, unpretentious. And leaves a very good impression when you finish to listening to. xup

Besides that, the performance was the best by far.

What is your obsession with things being modern? As many of said, modern doesn't mean good.

The song isn't had. The singer isnt bad. The arrangement isn't bad. But still - the song leaves me feeling quite indifferent to it... how come?

It's a modern, nicely constructed piano ballad and Molly has an interesting voice. The "give a little love" chorus is catchy.

I listened to the studio version of Playing with Numbers which IMO is way more pleasant than the live performance. It's not something I'd put anywhere near my Top 10 but maybe with a proper sound system, it'll be bearable. Friday's performance was just not doing it for me.
