Well the table shows that it‘s true, actually! :D
Apart from a few exception it proved juries preferred songs that were in the top 10, top 15 odds.
In case of Austria: he did rather well in the semi and he wasn’t that low in the odds then if I remember correctly.

Would you be happier if the Juries had Israel on #17 and Cyprus on #22? :D
In the End we should not forget that the Jurymember within a Country (mostly at least) vote independent from each other, as well as every national Jury votes independent from every other logically. 33/ 215 had Sweden on #1 and noone (except the Germans of Course) knew that 32 other Jurymember worldwide had Sweden on #1 which might lead to an Overration.

netta's toy is more modern and has more production values than cesar's nobody but you and if current and well produced is what they should reward then they made the wrong decision and we should be thankful televoters are better jurors than juries are. die mad about it forever. =)

It‘s not about what I‘d be happy about. That‘s not the point.
It‘s less about the songs themselves but they way the Jurors obviously decide for what song to vote.
In another thread I quoted the official criteria - the rules for Jurors how to rate/judge a song.
Many of the juries decisions did not stick by those rules. That‘s my opinion. In my opinion juries go the easy way. „Let‘s see what’s popular“ (I.e. high in the odds) so all fans and the audience are pleased. Many times it works. Just bad when - like this year - the public has such a different taste...

That's what Israel did this year and the juries didn't stop it because of MeToo.

Oh totally. It's not like the juries took into account her singing, her energy on stage, her staging or her song which for some random reason has the most streams and views out of all entries

They voted against Cyprus because Cyprus sent a woman who was trying to be sexy for men

Poor thing only got 183 points from them. The juries are completely corrupt and brainwashed by MeToo, they only put 2 men in their top 3!

I'm a bit done with this nonsense, of course there is some political voting, like the last places of Azerbaijan in Armenia and Armenia in Azerbaijan, but Israel is a very recent and interesting song, also for juries. Most jury members jury looked at quality and did their best.

You could also say that Israel was voted down by the juries because it's Israel. You know, not exactly a popular country with some other european countries, especially the western european ones, lately

it's obviously bs, same as juries voting for it because of #metoo

Although one Czech news portal had a headline "Czechs stand by Israel in Eurovision as well as in politics" and "Czechs can be proud that we supported Israel not only during the foundation of their state but in Eurovision too"

Chicken clucking is not modern, is it? The televoters supported trash because it was "funny" and drew attention, that's all. Austria's song is vastly superior. That's why it won the jury vote. This year is just one more reminder that we need juries but the system needs to be further improved. In a perfect system, Israel wouldn't have won.

Since when is Netta a good singer? Even those that like the song have been critical of her vocals. The staging was awful. People like to watch bizarre trash on YouTube. Nothing of that makes a good winner. The fact that many people watch something doesn't mean that it is any good.

Chorizo I guess you should have seen her earlier this year doing magic things with her looper. Then you'd understand. Truly amazing and already then I understood she would win this year. I think the song Toy was annonced later.

Then what makes it good? Your subjective opinion only? It would be quite sad if you can't draw the line between your subjective opinion of something and your objective understanding of something acclaimed. There are songs that are not my cup of tea, but I can still admit it has a quality to it based on other factors.

You think popularity indicates good quality? Do you know what they say about flies? The televote is more about entertainment than quality. The jury is about quality.
