With Hijo de la Luna and Bright Eyes in there while all other songs were relatively unknown the writing was on the wall as both songs are very accessible and evergreen classics purely on merit. Happy to see both of them at the top, congrats to Zeus of course. Thanks Marcos for hosting this edition and of course thanks to everyone who voted for a true Dutch classic. The performance you saw was award-winning and a milestone in the development of the music video. At the time it was unheard of to perform a song without just being on stage with microphones etc. It also got conservatives riled up as such artistry wasn't seen as proper and the song is about the male singer being gay.
