So, England vs. Germany in the 1/8-finals. The English team better makes German sausages out of the German squad lead by Khadira and Marin.
Ghana vs. USA, well Ghana will advance in the 1/4 final for sure. Last World Cup they defeated them, so I should expect Ghana to go further and more. Ghana can hit on Uruguay or South Korea and reach the 1/2-final.
As I thought, Serbia underestimated Australia and lost the game. I thought Serbia will tie, but at the end they lost. Anyway, the two strongest teams advanced in group D.

For tomorrow's games:
Italy - Slovakia 2:0
New Zealand - Paraguay 1:2
Denmark - Japan 0:0
Netherlands - Cameroon 4:2
2nd round ;)

Oh what a shame Serbia didn't qualify :(

And USA, Ghana, Uruguay, South Korea...one of them will be semifinalist while Germany and England are facing each other in 1/8. So bad for football... :?

Serbia played really bad tonight, 2nd half especially, Australia deserved to punish such a bad game, and that's the life. More luck with EURO2012.
However, I'm glad Germany won over Ghana, and best teams qualified.
Now Germany - England will be delicacy:D
And USA has no chance against Ghana:D

Grr, I missed the TV coverage of the England match because of work, but luckily I had my trusty radio on hand. At least I didn’t have to see the ‘generic’ image of an England supporter, i.e. some pale guy wearing a stupid wig with a flag painted across his face, compared with the Netherlands, who get busty blonde girls kitted out in orange... :p

But hey, England may not have the most attractive supporters but at least they’re the most vocal, great competition for the giant mutant mosquito... I mean vuvuzelas!

Anyhow, from what I ‘heard’ England played a lot better in this match, and hopefully they can replicate a similar performance against Germany. I have a feeling it’ll be close, IMO both teams are pretty equally matched, when England play at their best of course!

Also, well done to the USA, I’m glad we qualify alongside them. I’m hoping football will be more widely promoted in the U.S. now.

Aww, both my "favourites" kicked out today  These were two groups I didn't care so much for though :p And I'm happy for England, for the sake of my own country, even though I don't really like them xD Those group D matches were damn tense... (though the first halves of both were sleep-inducing)

As for tomorrow, well, biggest match ever for me :p Already feel a bit nervous, but let's see...

Once again for Italy, once again for this group...

THIS. WOULD. RULE. Probably the other way round though..... :p

Cameroon deserve 1 point at least; maybe they'll finally bring the standard up here... too late though

-dk 0 - 0 -jp
DON'T JINX IT! I would like this. A lot (obviously). And I think Japan will play defensively...
But that can seriously backfire on us, if Denmark score late we're screwed!
So no surprises for a 1-0 victory to Denmark, but if there are miracles we'll be able to pull off our own attack too xD

Well, I would be very happy if New Zealand goes through and wins the game. I don't think Italy will miss this one, especially because they usually play well against them, Czech Republic, etc.

Paraguay 2-1 New Zealand
Slovakia 1-1 Italy
Cameroon 0-3 Netherlands
Denmark 2-1 Japan

Things look very bad for Slovakia. They have to win to qualify (Italy SUCKS so we'll see). At least if Paraguay wins or ties, it would be easier.

Very sad about Slovenia as it almost happened and also, I would've rather seen Australia, instead of Ghana or someone else. Group 3 & 4 really didn't happen the way I wanted them to. :(

Tonight is the night!
It will be like a final for both teams. No matter what happens, even if we don't qualify, I will be happy for Japan, who have proven to be a very sympathic team, and cheer for them in the next round against New Zealand/Italy. Just like Nati I'm already starting to get a little nervous.

One thing's for sure though: Both of our official World Cup-songs will be played on repeat all day long in my itunes today

Nephew - The Danish Way to Rock

[youtube:t3147dhq]9kvkaFKoYlI[/youtube:t3147dhq]

8ball - Vi ta'r guldet med hjem

[youtube:t3147dhq]8lBOJ-s1QDE[/youtube:t3147dhq]

And here goes my prediction:

Paraguay - New Zealand 2-0
Slovakia - Italy 1-1
Cameroon - Netherlands 2-1
Denmark - Japan 2-1

Serbia is a whole tournament played very bad, and we deservedly relegated. We have great players who play in top European clubs, but ... Something is missing! I am very disappointed, but what to do, I hope that some other time will be better.
I am glad that at least Ghana has passed, because their coach is from Serbia!

I'm very sorry for Slovenia, the guys have really tried.
English has a great team and top coach and I believe they will demonstrate that against Germany in round of 16.
The Americans have left a great impression on me - they played very well and absolutely and deservedly went to second round.

Today predictions:
Paraguay - New Zealand 2:0
Italy - Slovakia 2:1
Netherlands - Cameroon 1:0
Denmark - Japan 3:1

And today on my support list are: Paraguay, Slovakia and Denmark!!!
