Today let's talk about our venue : Soùm Miralh !

Situated in the Cristaulh massif at the north-east of Ansèth the capital, Soùm Miralh is certainly one of the most well-known summits of the Pyreican mountain ranges.

Culminating at 3321m, it is the home of an internationally renowned observatory.
While the construction started in 1864, it isn't until 1886 that the first installments were finished. Not only did the long winters make the summit inaccessible between early October and mid-June, but the high altitude also proved itself a challenge for all the men and donkeys who had to transport the necessities.

The first cable car was installed in 1957, only to be replaced forty years later when the observatory went under renovation before the opening to the public.

Thanks to the different domes and telescopes, the Soùm Miralh became one of the most important places for astrophysicians. A dark-sky preserve 3000km² area was created around the peak, which includes 7% of the Pyreican land. No permanent lights are allowed in this zone, and citizens respect this rule to a fault. Pyreicans love their starry sky and want to preserve it as long as possible.

Today, Soùm Miralh is a famous place for freeriding. Skiers and snowboarders from all over the country go there in the winter - with the help of their own legs or thanks to the cable car - to enjoy a descent in powder snow.

I apologize to everyone, but Belvist will have to skip this WLSC as well.

My grandfather lost his battle with COVID today. We did the best we could to protect him, he didn't leave the house for 2 years, and he still got it.

I need to find some strength in this difficult time, but life really sucks right now.

Belvist will return again at some point in the future. In the meantime, enjoy, have fun, and may the best song win.

I was really not sure if I would have time for WLSC, but I got my NSC 203 votes in tonight, and feel ready to go in WLSC 238.

Zany & DV8 - Nothing Else Matters

Metallica's "Nothing Else Matters" is one of 3 songs from NSC 7 I've found great covers of (so far), and it's a song that got a surprisingly poor result back then. Only 23rd? Almost makes me wonder if Begonia failed to vote, but it doesn't seem like they did. So it deserves another shot, and I'm giving the honors to Zany & DV8. :)
