On September 7, IOC will announce the host city for 2020 Summer Olympics. The candidates are:

Istanbul
Tokyo
Madrid

Which one would you prefer to win?

Here promo videos of three cities:

Moved to sports where this belongs ;)

Though currently it is a more political issue as this is voting process. I would want to discuss its political side, as Tokyo lost some votes because of its mayor's statements on islamic countries. Furthermore, Turkey lost some votes because of the protests happened in July.

I don't want Tokyo because I'd be asleep because it's awake Istanbul or Spain would be good. Although it's probably Tokyo. Maybe Tokyo will lose it cause of an earthquake?

Yep, that might ruin it for Istanbul.
I think Tokyo can possibly still win considering Spain is not in the best economical status.

I think that Tokyo has the best chances to win. I doubt it will be Madrid although it would be great (because the preparing works on infrastructure should become immediately and we know the current economic situation in Spain, unfortunately) so I think the final battle should be between Tokyo and Istanbul. But we'll see, of course.

According to previous rounds, Madrid (with 8,08) and Tokyo (8,02) have more chances (Istanbul is in 6,98), but you never know, Rio had one of the lowest marks and they won just because it was gonna be the first South American city to host the Olympics.

Advantages
Istanbul: first time ever in Turkey / country growin economically
Madrid: they tried it so hard many times, third time in a row / 80 % of the infraestructures are already done
Tokyo: the continent thing / more hotels seats

Disadvantages
Istanbul: repression over protests have thrown a bad image on Turkey / least developed candidacy
Madrid: financial situation throw bad image on Spain, despite there is no need of big investments here
Tokyo: already hosted Olympics / less experienced in these events in the last years

I really hope Madrid gets it after three bids, cause that would mean WORK!!!

Where did you get these exams? Because IOC does not give such a report, instead they published this kind of geneneral evaluation.

My personal guess is that: Madrid is going to eliminate in first round. In the final round, the winner will be mostly selected by the votes of delegates who voted for Madrid, as happened to London in previous elections.

It is a shame that no Olympics have been organized in Istanbul yet. The slogan for Istanbul is "Bridge Together"

I think Istanbul should host. Yes Turkey isn't as well developed as Japan or Spain, but having an Olympics in Istanbul will help the whole of the Middle East.

Istanbul, we haven't seen Turkey host something big like this, so it would be a great opportunity for them. Although recent happenings might lower their chances. Fingers crossed for Istanbul! :D

I saw this on the press. It's from May 2012, when Doha and Baku were eliminated. IOC always does this exam at that moment. But I don't know if the cities had an exam between May 2012 and now. Probably they had, but they didn't get publick marks, just some comments.

Absolutely unimpressed by Spain at the moment to say the least, but as you know I believe in the Olympics and other similar events being absolutely non-political in their nature. Therefore I am still supporting Madrid in their bid. Obviously I have the absolute privilege of being a person who's nation has just hosted the Olympic and Paralympic Games, and I can say that it was very special and touched every Briton in one way or another. Along with the Queen's Diamond Jubilee, I believe that the Olympics blew away the post-2007 depression that had gripped the mindset of the country since we entered recession. Incidentally the economy has started to grow and improve this year now - whether or not that's connected to the Jubilee and Olympics I cannot say, but I would say that they contributed somewhat to this economic turnaround. And having a more positive and upbeat mindset as a nation is good in itself anyway! :D

Spain and the Spanish people are the ones struggling the most at this time, and I believe they deserve this opportunity and will benefit more from hosting than the other two would. I also believe they will be the best hosts, giving the Olympics a unique Spanish flavour. Far East hosts are too 'plastic' and false for me, and Turkey's security is becoming more and more shaky by the minute - who knows what the situation will be like there in 2020. Not to mention that I think they'd turn it into some sort of Ataturk propaganda coup.

How security in Turkey becomes shaky? Is it because of Syria? It is not first time a border country of Turkey having domestic disturbance but these never affected Turkey's security to considerable amount. As a matter of fact, Turkey is still one of the most popular touristic destinations as a safe country. So basically in your view, IOC made a wrong selection for 2012, as they just selected London and after day London bomb attacks happened in 2005.

Not to mention that I think they'd turn it into some sort of Ataturk propaganda coup.

What is Ataturk propaganda coup thing? In London 2012 ceremonies, we witnessed Queen's propaganda, didn't we?
