Is it possible to know whom the “referrals” on the profile page (www.escunited.com/members/8036-Salmon?tab=aboutme) come from? I know it means that someone who newly signed up entered my username when asked for someone who introduced them to the forum, but I have no idea who that could be.

I didn’t actively advertise the forum to anyone, but I’m still intrigued and really want to know (:

I think that it's not possible :/

Re: Updates/Requests/Improvements

Nope if it's marked as permanent, but there isn't anything defined about how many infractions equal ban (temporary or permanent one)

I'm sorry but this rule should really be reviewed as it is very unfair.
I received an infraction and 1 point three years ago that is still very active on mY account, so it feels like I am posting on probation ever since rather than be allowed to wipe the slate clean.
Surely a point/infraction should be removed after at least a two year period if the poster stays on good conduct.
I don't want to be posting here feeling like a forum troll over a stupid insult I said three years ago and still be punished for it:(

Absolutely agree with this.

3 years is a very long time and people change. It seems a massive overreaction to tar people for ever for stupid things they said a long time ago especially if it was a first offense.

Exactly, first time offenders should be given a second chance.
As there is no set rule as to how many infraction points you need in order to be banned (could be just 1 point or 100), technically speaking I could still be banned at any time as I have that 1 point on my account forever.
Sadly, I think I will have no choice but to close my account and stop posting if the infraction rule isn't reviewed:(

kamc Gabe Infractions-related, me and Matt already wrote that expiration date / number of points aren't important because we don't have any special system which uses expiration / points (I mean things like e.g. 5 infraction points meaning 1-week ban or sth. like that), so all points and expiration date are set to the same. Also, it's not the same if someone broke the rules harder once and didn't repeat it after the infraction / warning (like in your case) and if someone is constantly breaking the same rule even after infractions/warnings (most of people break the same rule in a short time and you broke the rule once a long time ago, so you don't have to worry :D you definitely didn't repeat your mistake).

More important things are why someone got an infraction and which rules were broken, but when we need to ban someone, we ban people only when it's necessary.

Also, infractions are like this for years, but I can check with others about your suggestion :D

Due the the Chat room related issue, we went ahead and adjusted the Infraction expiration from Never to three months. So all infractions will fall over after three months. Hopefully this is going to fix the issue for you. Can you let me know?

And 1 more thing, changed settings will not apply to already given infractions (since we didn't manage to change them), so if you will want to see the chat and you didn't get any infraction recently (let's say a few weeks) you will have to PM me or Matt to manually change your infraction settings, so that you can see the chat. :D

I'm a little confused.
So those of us already with existing infractions will continue to have them indefinitely? Only new infractions given out from now on will expire after three months?
I just checked my account and I still have that one from 2013 so I guess the former is correct:(

See Juki's post above -- the admins cannot change infraction duration retroactively, so all you have to do to get rid of yours is PM one of the admins (Jukica or Matt) and they'll take care of it manually.

Yeah unfortunately we can't change infractions :/ I tried to do that yesterday actually

But your infraction points are now at 0, so you should be able to see chat

Thanks but no I still have 1 point showing up.
At least it will be nice for new offenders to have a clean sheet again after 3 months unlike us oldies who remain "criminals" for life at these forums:(

I don't want my infraction gone, sinceriously. It makes me laugh every time I remember of it, I've even kept the PM saying I've received it.

Other than that, I'm having issues logging into the forum when trying to log in using my phone, can't resize the bar at the top at times.
