,matt s recabs showed a lot of songs that were good but the juries did not vote for..

I wonder anyway who is allowed to be a jury member and why up to 5 folks have the same say as millions of other music lovers

on the other hand.. juries can be bribed or downvote a song deliberately which they see as a too strong competitor for their own country`s entry..

Lordi's song was very catchy and their costumes were amazing though.

True. I myself was in a huge metal forum back then where people gathered and arranged everyone was voting for Lordi. I know other worldwide Metal forums did this too.
I don’t say they would not have won without them but metal fans united had a fair share.

You should have talked to me then.
(And I didn't care so much about the "message" because there are much better empowerment songs, nor do I use social media on a broad scale. In fact this is the only forum I actively participate in, so the social media in this case did not play a role in my liking of the song. I just found it uplifting and fun)

no matter if you like it or not (I did not like it), you have to respect the musicality in the song. The composition is very effective and it has a great hook. Netta has great vocals and it was a great overall package, especially with the ethnic elements in the instrumentation

Respect is fundamental but, beyond musicality, Netta won thanks to her image as a Pucca and to a particular performance.
