What's the point when it's just Blocvision Song Contest?

All votes went to the Germany servers first then they sent us, also as you saw all country voted through the monitor. This is nothing else to do with us and please respect everybody.

Engelbert is a legend and voting just a number, it could be different next time.

7.47 million viewers last night, peak of 9.6 million.

Guessing the weather and football harmed the ratings :/

How many are considering going to Stockholm next year?

Now that I have a half decent job, I'm seriously considering going next year. It's always been on my Bucket List to see it live, and unlike Baku, I won't have to pay an arm and a leg to fly out there! :D

What makes me unhappy about the result and comments is because people have taken against the entry because he is 76, therefore it immediately becomes out-of-date, crap, etc. The fact of the matter is that our song was FAR superior to the likes of Albania, even Serbia, which both did very well. But oh, they're part of the Balkan bloc so we know why.........

As for Stockholm, I doubt I'll ever be able to attend any Eurovision's until I leave Uni, unless they're in the United Kingdom or Ireland. It's in the middle of exams unfortunately, though I would have enough money (and love!) to go.

I can assure you, that the Norwegian entry in 2010 "My heart is yours" was also out-of-date, crap, etc. So it has nothing to do with age :D Feel free to stop whining now :)

I don't agree with it. The UK-entry was nice, and didn't deserve ending second last, but it's all a mater of taste.
I honestly think Albania & Serbia deserved that place. And it's not only because of the Balkan bloc they reached a high place...

Nope it wasnt. The same things that led to the downfall of us last night led to the downfall of Norway in 2010. And yea your map is wrong, if you're gunna ask me to stop whining then at least get your map right, God!

With that kind of spelling, you won't leave Uni too soon, I'm afraid. Or at least not with a diploma :D

Many people calling it old-fashioned, 70s ballad, etc, are doing it really (perhaps not intentionally) because Engelbert is old. I find that wrong, I dont care about what people are, how old they are, he's 76, and I was so proud of him representing my country last night!
As for the other 2, Serbia yes was deserving, but why Serbia deserving of being at the top, whilst United Kingdom at the bottom? Serbia already given like a massive point advantage before they even start by the fact that they're Balkan, and that is unfair. As for Albania, I wont mention that, that is something Id expect to be played in hell .

He's very popular in the Balkan, they all understand the language and they were one country for a long time. It's understandable, if it would play always in their advantage, they would always end up in the top 10 and last year they didn't. Like last year, we gave the Netherlands also high points in the semi final, because the 3JS are quite popular here and a twelve to France, this year nothing. It depends mostly on the song though.

This year, you also got a some neighbour votes from Belgium & Ireland ;).

The UK can do so much so much better!

Seems a lot of people are calling for the UK to withdraw... >.<
God, I hate this country's attitude. I feel like packing my bags and moving to Malta or something.

point, you have an extremely good point there!!!

My Dad has been saying we should withdraw for many years now - he says we (and other countries, like France) shouldnt let some of the other voting countries embarrass us by giving us nul points or similar every year, that we should call their bluff, so to speak, and then either they wont have a contest to play games in at all, or even if they did manage to scramble around for some cash, it'd be pretty rubbish and they could just carry on getting excited about voting for neighbour A every year.
I dont happen to agree with that, I think we should stay in (and I believe we will anyway - the viewing figures are too good), but we have the financial power to not only go to the EBU to ask nicely and prettily for change, but to DEMAND change. France will be feeling the same as us, together we're paying way over half a million to each contest, just as our Big 5 fee. The BBC should have stood-up and stopped the EBU going back to the old voting window for instance. We have got to do this, it is deeply unfair, and if this goes on for much longer, coming bottom, people will loose interest, people will stop watching, and you know where that will lead.
