hello Israeliboy.. i came across a programme the other night that featured pete waterman.. i missed the start, but it was nothing to do with eurovision.. he made an interesting comment.. he said there was was fine line between a song being banal or brilliant.. i think that sounds good to me is brilliant.. i crossed the line.. ESCGirl crossed the line.. bashers crossed the line.. Kirkland crossed the line.. and Margerita86 has a foot on both sides of the line.. it looks like you are ready to make the leap.. i hope the final version puts it straight into your top 5.. ;)

lets hope thms!!

pete waterman added that a hit song had to grab your attention in 8 seconds..

from memory (not always reliable)

he also said, that he wanted anyone singing a stock, aitken and (he stressed the 'and' ) waterman song

to know it had to be sung the way it was written.. 'you know.. do - reh - me - fa - so - la - te - do?

that means you dont change the notes.. or add any of your own notes'

i wonder if the hit machine has hit gold with 'that sounds good to me'..

i really hope so..

This song has potential to be top15. please do another version. it grows on me and now it's 21st in my list (before it was 35th)! goodluck UK! And bring Leona Lewis or Robbie Williams ;)

ahhr, the same thing happened to me. maybe its some kind of flu? or subliminal message in the song?

i was thinking about the style of the backing vocals utilised in 'that sounds good to me' and it has led me to this eurovision classic..

can you hear it too?
That's my favourite winner EVER! It always brings a little tear to my eye everytime I hear it :) I'm hoping the new arrangement of our song is heavy on the brass to showcase Josh's vocals :D

If you play it backwards he's really singing "Europe, the great Beelzebub commands you to vote for the UK!"
Now there's an idea for next year...

It's the Eurovision event in the Netherlands this Saturday! Hopefully the audience are techno savvy and armed with decent video cameras/camera phones.

Thanks for the links ESCGirl!

As for the remix, I don't really know what to say. I have no idea whether it's an improvement or not. It certainly isn't any worse.

I'm confused... :?

Just to stress though that although it's the version on the CD it is NOT the single version that will be performed in Oslo. The single version will be very different again according to the BBC. It's all very secretive this year

it is an unexpectedly gentle version.. more of a story.. the verse and the chorus are no longer opposites.. the song seems wistful.. and is actually quite endearing.. i expect it will be too lightweight for fans who like everything, including the kitchen sink, in a eurovision song.. but i still love it.. so it is douze point from me.. :D
