A-lister said:Why discussing X-Factor really? Even if most of these careers aren't prolonged, obviously the impact of this show is bigger in the UK than an selection for ESC
Let's say the winner of X-Factor would be send to Eurovision, then Eurovision would have way more viewers and followers in the UK even if this person's career might end just a couple of months afterwards.
As for the Sugababes, they are commercially over now and probably will loose their contract after this new flop album, so eventhough it was good for Jade's career to be picked as a member, she was picked in the wrong time.
Maybe we will see the Sugababes in the Eurovision next year? I'm all for it, I like them and since they are dropping in popularity it wouldn't be too strange if a thing like that would happen.
Then they should just withdraw and stop moaning every year when they do crap. Also the album may not have done so well but they are still successful and it will take more than that for the Sugababes to be dropped. Also it actually charted outside the UK and Ireland which their previous album didn't I believe. The album was also overshadowed by the breakneck speed in which the line up was changed.
I can't believe the BBC demanded a male singer. Ok for the last two years a male soloist won but the stats show that female singers are more successful in ESC overall.
I think the whole attitude of the British public towards ESC is just like the euroskepticism
which exsists among a lot of British people. Like they bash the EU, the Eurovision, the Euro etc. So really I don't see why they bother enterting. Also I know some British people are pro-European (the intelligent ones ) but a lot really aren't.
