TVORCHI’s NF staging was done by the same stage director who works with Ani Lorak and Loboda , Oleg Bodnarchuk. Wonder if he will do it for esc or not…
This sucks.... If I knew this, I would probably never vote for their entry, even if that was a Eurovision victory contender. I don't put fault on Tvorchi as they are just performers, but I deeply disappointed that person who called Ukrainians fascists has relation to this...

Huh... I like this song but I'm not blown away. It kind of sounds unfinished. It's ALMOST there, something is just missing.
I also like that it's not the expected sad song in ukrainian (I'm saying this but my fav was actually Jerry Heil tho lol)

Cesar basic, I can't :ROFLMAO:

Cesar was great, was watching his performance yesterday. Juries have done some good things over the years.
( will always think tho that it was very anticlimatic that they had him on that platform for the first half of the song and they had him down for the end, always should be the other way around with rising platforms! )

Don't like the song, but I'm sure very well in Eurovision regardless. I gave it 2 points for now. Gas masks remind me of madonna performance in Tel Aviv.

Jerry Heil was my favorite yesterday, but I didn´t manage yet to get deeper into "Heart of steel", maybe it could be a grower, but a long way to go until then... 4 points so far

The song was kinda basic, though - an ordinary pop midtempo song with gospel elements which could have been coming from any country´s The Voice/X-Factor final...not as bland as The Mamas but it wasn´t progressive, showcasing Austrian culture or modern. The overall package was great and César outshone most of the performers due to his amazing vocals and his charisma...the song, however, could have been a Swedish reject - and the jury fell for it - imo, it was quite basic (not mediocre - don´t get me wrong, it was really well-produced).

I call German shade. The Germans on any forum on the internet always have something shady to say about Austria, because that's in their DNA. Michael Schulte's song though was way more basic than Cesar's bop. A drowsy ballad like a million others.

There is one guy on this forum with DE tag that consistently hates on the Austria ESC thread. Noteworthy, I forgot his nickname, because I observe but I remain unbothered.

Cesar's song never would have never been a Mello reject, because they always hire the same composers for the same Swedish schlager and NBY has nothing Swedish factory sounding about it at all. It's from Symphonix who consistently wrote songs that could win Mello.

Sorry, but this has nothing to do with where are you from... I am from Germany and Austria was my #1 this year, even had an Austrian Flag with me when visiting Semi 1in Turin

Dunno why you have to refer back to the German entry now? Because I´m half-German?

And yeah, I agree with you. Michael Schulte might have sung perfectly and he had a wonderful staging + it was emotional but the song itself was an ordinary ballad with a "lazy piano arrangement".
I think I even placed it in my bottom 5 whilst I gave :7: pts to :at: that year.
I wholeheartedly enjoyed the Austrian performance and I think it was a well-produced entry and quite catchy... but again, it was quite basic (the song´s melody, no progressive or distinctive elements).

Cesar song was basic but basic doesn't mean bad, I thought it was a very good song despite being basic

Thanks.
This!

I wasn´t throwing shade at Austria or César at all.
I just wanted to highlight that "basic but well-produced" pop songs can perform well at Eurovision - I just used :at: as an example because a user has previously mentioned that "we would be talking about a non-qualification if "Heart Of Steel" would have been an Austrian entry". - Neither Nathan nor César were progressive, modern, contemporary but managed to perform well at ESC (César even got an outstanding and well-deserved result after an amazing performance).

That's exactly what I would say too. And actually the same goes for Michael Schulte as well. "Walk alone" was VERY "basic", but it wasn't a bad song. I mean it is all objective for sure.

And by the way, I love Austria! It is next to Germany and Japan my third home country where I lived a few years. I am always happy when Austria gives us good songs. And Cesar had one of the best Austria entries in the last 10 years. xheart

Oh that sucks. When I saw that staging for the first time it did look to me more prototypical Russian/Belarusian than Ukrainian. Hopefully the new staging not done by him looks less clinical.
