Re: UKRAINE 2016

Yes, let's give three people (one of which spoke about a dress for five minutes) the power over tens of thousands.

Because sometimes those 3 people might know what will get the best result than the many who were spun into a mass hysteria of patriotic fervour. Hell, the Ukrainian President's press secretary basically said if you don't vote for Jamala you aren't a patriot. I was ready to accept a Jamala victory before the show, but the way it was achieved leaves a very bad taste in my mouth.

So chuffed she won, but seriously Ukraine how the hell do you make a NF last so fecking long?!?! The UK one has six songs and will be 90 minutes long. How can you make it last four and a half HOURS?!?!?

Invite Ruslana to talk about things.

Very good song. Unfortunately, people won't talk about the song, but about the politics again.

This can go very high.

I do hope she changes the title though. Wasn't the original title something else? She should change it back.

I suppose she will probably have to change the title though.... Depending on how Russia reacts.

To be honest, I cannot get the hype about the Jamala's song. Yep, the lyrics are seem to be sincere and deep, but... For me it's not the material Eurovision needs at all. Maybe I'm prejudiced, but I'm tired of depression at ESC. Give me entries that can really rock the stage of Stockholm. 7 points, because I kinda like it, but hype of this song has all the chances to destroy all the positive feelings about this song from me.

People who bitch about the politic meaning of 1944 are the ones that the remembrance of deportation of the Crimean Tatars doesn't fit their pro-russian agenda. (so far that's what I've observed in this thread).

Yes, let's send songs about Peace and Unity and Love and blah blah like Russia. Horrible things have happened and it's worth to remember them.

STB should take notes and get rid of those jurors & don't give them so much time. The postcards could be shorter as well.
Gonna forgive them because it was their 1st time.
Keep it like it was in the semis & it will be awesome

What does it matter how Russia reacts? Ukraines days of bowing down and answering to Russia's every call is over. It's Ukraines entry, not Russias'.

The jury (Verka) said that she should change the song title so I believe this is the channel's position as well. I hope she returns to original/1st title.

Tbh Jamala wasn't my number 1 in this nf, and out of that final line up I would have preferred The Hardkiss, but nevertheless I think Ukraine have made a good choice regardless.

It can be deemed as too political. There is a reason Armenia had to change their title last year so it can easily be the case for Ukraine as well, regardless whether or not we agree with it.
