Re: UKRAINE 2016

First time hearing Jamala - 1944.... I'm in tears, seriously. What a piece of art, this is why I love music.

Now take your trophy Ukraine, can't wait for The Eurovision Song Contest 2017 in your country.

No way with such song. And I don't want the victory for Ukraine with such mediocre songs. It's not a piece of art as you say. Maybe you like it but It's very far from the art and the real music. The same with the song of the Hardkiss.
Anyway it's too early to say who will win ESC. More than 30 entries are still unknown. In my opinion anyone of qualified songs yesterday haven't deserve to be in TOP-10 of ESC. I hope and I almost sure there will be more good entries for the TOP-10 of the Grand Final and even for the Semi-2

Okay, everyone got it that you hate it... BUT! Music and art do not exist within your vision, it is much wider and develops through time, it changes. If you personally don't like it, don't state it is "far from art and music", because it is totally not true. Be objective. The song is deeper than most generic "music" and naturally stands out.

Re: UKRAINE 2016

Don't get the hype around Hardkiss. Pretty much the only good thing I remember from that is how amazing she looks. The chorus is too over-dramatic for me. It completely has the attention of being dramatic and hitting you hard... But that sort of doesn't work with this one. Yes it tries to be something else, but really it is just a pop song. Sorry. I don't get the feeling that I would want to listen to it again. It's not bad, but I can't connect with this as I just can't stand something about this. But maybe it's because we have Jamala to compare it to.

Jamala is just... amazing. The more I listen to it, the more it touches me. I've listened to this so many times already as I'm so captivated. Ukraine just knows how to do Eurovision and I sincerely hope that when this goes to Eurovision, it will do amazing and move a lot of others too. Hauntingly beautiful. Ethnic, yet modern. Such a strong powerful meaning and backstory that many people here and in other countries can resonate with. My initial thoughts about this were mainly debating about if this is 'too political' or not, but this is just so incredibly well done that I honestly can't imagine who else could sing for Ukraine in Eurovision 2016 than this woman and I feel so strongly for it. I just have to see it happen. Jamala moved this Eurovision season into a whole another level. And it shows how excellent 'peace songs' really can be if done right.. I hope they send this xpray xbow

That's the straw which broke the camel's back, enough is enough !
Everyone isn't forced and supposed to love Jamala's song, but could we reflect about the quality and the inner power of 1944 ?
Indeed, there aren't many songs like that which were sent to Eurovision, except N'oubliez pas for France, but France isn't Ukraine at all.
Jamala got it right to choose this song in order to enter this national selection, strong song, very strong song which can win Eurovision, even though some people think that this is a 'piece of shit'...

To me, Ukraine should send 1944, and to people who said that wasn't well deserved or something like that : 49, almost 50% of the televote was won by Jamala tonight, and.... MY GOD !

I accept the quality of the song, and you have to accept that some people feel the overwhelming power and epicness from Hardkiss. I understand Jamala won the televote easily, but that doesn't make anyone else's view less important. I feel for Helpless what a lot of people feel for 1944. Goosebumps. Reminders throughout the song of why I love Eurovision.

One thing I think we can agree is that Ukraine have 2 songs in their selection that can get top 5 at Eurovision. And for that I am grateful that they have done this properly.

I don't blame them for loving Hardkiss indeed.
However, we have to admit that Jamala is far away from them (in the good side) and Viktoria is an opponent for Jamala because of her very good song too.

I agree that Jamala is far away from everyone in voting, but I (obviously) don't agree that her song is far better than Hardkiss. It's all a matter of opinions.

As for Victoria, I still think Jamala's closest challengers were last night. I think the top 2 are pretty much settled, regardless of what Victoria and NuAngels do.

I do agree on NuAngels but Viktoria can easily win the televote and the juries if she would succeed to perform as great as the studio version.
Moreover, her sister (until today, I thought Viktoria won the JESC XD) won JESC 2012 and that's a big asset imo.

EDIT : She participated in 2014 and finished second with a less better song than Overload.

I love Jamala. Glad she will (most likely) go to ESC. Think she'll do well there.

However, I think HK's song is just perfect for ESC. It's such a perfect mix of pop/rock, melody/drive, ethic/modern that it's a real shame it won't get any international spotlight. If only they could send it next year or something.

Re: UKRAINE 2016

I was sure the final would be between Jamala and The Hardkiss, however from the televotes and juries' votes yesterday, it seems like Jamala will win. Ukraine would be one of my favourites however i'd love to see Helpless in Eurovision stage.

Not at all, because Viktoria & NuAngels can do great, even though I'd like to see Jamala wins..

Both of their songs seem weak to me. They might go to the final, but they will be under the shadow of Jamala and The Hardkiss.

OVERLOAD IS WEAK ? xrofl3
To me, both NuAngels and Viktoria could beat Jamala somehow...

No they won't. If yesterday's show is anything to go by, the juries will not put up with either of those Swedish throwaways. NeAngely might do well with the televote, but it's not like they set it ablaze last time around. Still, since it's the only big act in the semi, they should do ok. But let's not pretend Petrik is some kind of big star. Unless they really rig the system, she has no chance against Jamala.

If anything, someone like Japanda could surprise everyone with a great song/performance. But it would have to be something extraordinary to challenge Jamala. Everyone else is just there for the ride at this point. Yes, even The Hardkiss. Jamala just has too much momentum across the board.

They should compete at New Wave Festival as preparation for their come back for the next year :)

I'm already prepared to see Jamala winning the whole thing you know...
