I was afraid of her wearing some stupid, big angel wings on back but her dress was beautiful. Wings on shoulders, very nice. Sand animation is still stealing the show though. Maybe they are trying to do Dima Bilan trick. You know, Believe was crap but when Plushenko appeared, ppl loved it! ;)

^ Unlike Bilan she doesn't squeal like a pig and doesn't roll on the floor )))
Anyway, this is defnitly something new for ESC and something creative. I'm not sure if Kseniya is famous like Plushchenko and it's more into creating the background right on stage rather than dancing/having a sportsman.
I mean, all entries have their own backgrounds and we create it live.

After watching at monitors I don't think that it steals the spotlight. Everything interacts/fits perfectly. I like close shots, I was afraid that she would seem unnatural. Imo, it deserves the 10th place, like Alyosha. Both had not the best songs (though nobody has them this year imo) but both managed to perform/give them the 2nd life on stage.

That sand artist is amazing! :) One of the best backgrounds this year for sure. And now everything seems to look great on stage.

Mika is one of the most beautiful girls at this Eurovision. No tackiness or cheapness, just pure beauty :) me likes :)
And as for the sand animation I 100% agree with Alex. It should be seen on TV and then you can state if it overshadows her or not, cuz she looks like a little ant in front of huge screen, ofcourse you look at the screen not her, it's obvious.

One of the best, and most ingenious performance this year.
You Ukrainians can be proud on your choreographers, 'cause they really doing a great job every year.

While watching the rehearsal footage, I found myself forgetting that I was even suppose to be focussed on Mika Newton. The sand animation is a really nice and original idea but at the same time, I think its completely upstaging Mika and her song.

I don't really understand the point of having the sand artist on stage during the song creating the background in real time. I think its impressive but also unnecessary and will just add to the distraction the whole thing is bringing if they show her on camera working on it.

It could go either way, I won't be surprised if she misses out or qualifies.

Is there any chance that Ksenia's dress will be different? That's the only think I truly hate about the whole production. I'm even ok with Mika's dress. But Ksenia looks like she's a character in the Matrix movie, which is completely inappropriate for the rest of the performance.

Zlata Ognevich will sing on the biggest event of her life on May 14

She will perform Ukrainian anthem on FC "Shakhtar" birthday party. More than 50 000 people on the stadium + live TV broadcast + live broadcast on the squares in few cities.
Rihanna and Mila Jovovich are going to perform there as well.
So, before ESC I'll take a look at Zlata @ Donbass Arena.

And no, ESC will not be the most popular event of the day, just like last year (Klitchko sent it to knockdown  )

STOP F-CKEN SCREAMING AT ME !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you think that somebody hopes for diaspora here you have retarded reaction. I said that after JESC. We don't really have anybody's support. In fact sometimes Western countries give us even higher points

I really hope Ukraine qualifies and Im sure it will - Ukraine generally does well at Eurovision because they send fantastic songs, not cuz they send gimmicky songs or get neighbourly/diaspora voting imo.

Today proved no gimmicks work anymore. Ukraine is in serious danger.

So putting up a show is now supposed to be gimmicks?

Well that's just sad. I miss Eurovision when we had exciting shows. There's no use broadcasters paying all this money (tax money) and have that huge stage and effects when acts are just standing there looking boring.

Anyways using what you call "gimmicks" for a ballads is not really fitting anyways.

Well I agree they usually send good songs and all that.. but I don't think they've done it this year though. This is the first time ever that I don't think Ukraine deserve a spot in the final, and I usually put Ukraine in my personal top. 10 more or less every year (overall it's my all time favorite ESC country).

xkiss Exactly.

We received few 8pts from United Kingdom (0% of Ukrainian immigrants there) ... Slovakia (more than 22%) gave us 0 xshrug
I don't think that we send fantastic songs (in fact I like only Alyosha) but we send fantastic performances and performers which make our entries interesting.

The entry won't be concentrated on gimmics and the TV version is going to have a lot of close ups :)
Though Norway didn't have any gimmics and it didn't qualify xshrug Azerbaijan and Russia had gimmics and they qualified... even with so-so vocals.
