I also believe that Erdogan will still win, but the project to make another canal west of Istanbul is madness, it would turn the city into a small island of 5 million inhabitants. Not to mention the fact that the sea would eat it

I don't like homophobic country to compete at eurovision. Actually I would get rid of Poland, Baltic and eastern Balkan countries as well at eurovision.

As long as there are no rights for LGBT in those countries and they are third row citizens and marginalised they don't get the privilege of Eurovision. I wonder how blanka feels representing homophobic government or country.

Erdogan and his cronies will "win" (= steal) another election most probably so I think seeing Turkey back in the contest any day soon is wishful thinking...

But of course, I hope for a shocking surprise and that democracy and common sense will prevail in Turkey and that a new government will take the necessary but difficult steps to try to turn the tide (which would mean coming back to Eurovision as part of coming back to normality), but yeah that's more wishful thinking at this stage... I mean since when did a dictator accept defeat? xshrug

"Let's take away queer representation from homophobic countries" ... that's what you're basically arguing with that. They just had to air Drag Queens during primetime television because of their participation! Let them stay, so they have to show queers thriving.

It'll be interesting to see the results of this.
Btw, what's the format of the election?

Not the right place for politics but a short explanation: A candidate is elected with an absolute majority, otherwise a runoff between the two stronges candidates will be held two weeks later.

Maybe but this election could be decisive on a turkish comeback at ESC in 2024 so I think it's fair to talk about it
