Re: TURKEY 2019

You mean if Erdögan steals the 2018 elections? Which will happen... so no Turkey next year either (Israel or not).

Yea probably not and he is already stealing the election, question remains will it be enough for him to win. It is 50-50

And why do you keep ruining the beautifull letter ö with his name... Lol he has no ö and doesnt deserve it

Well, when you have all the machinery behind you, it's enough. I mean he managed to make a faux coup and to steal a referendum just recently xshrug

Unfortunately Turkey needs a revolution a la Ukraine (or even bigger) if you want to get rid of this guy (and of course enter ESC again), but yeah that's for another topic though and unfortunately I don't see it happening atm xshrug

This is not the politics thread but as someone who's living in Turkey, I can tell you the tension here is really high and his end is really near. His faux coup was not even enough to win the referendum, he needed to naturalize a few million Syrians and get their islamic votes for that and he counted a few million regular votes as 'invalid' from some particularly anti-Erdog cities to claim his 1% victory woohoo long live Erdog. He can't go on like this, not long ;)

True, and I guess we shouldn't continue this discussion in this thread, although one can't deny that Turkey not participating is directly connected to the Erdögan regime so in a sense, politics is involved in this thread regardless if we want it or not

Well, we'll see after the election, I cross all my fingers that Turkey can find their way back, but it looks difficult.

Count us out. Not even a trace of rumours this year, as it's in Israel.

After elections relations between Israel and Turkey will get better! Still no way for participation!

Not sure how it will get better after the elections? It could only happen if the opposition would win, and they won't because there is no way these elections will be fair and democratic.

I believe Erdogan will try to improve his relations with some countries after the elections! Of course this does not mean that they will become firends!

If Turkey should come back some day - and I truly hope so -, return with a strong entry like Mor ve Ötesi or maNga. Love those two bands! :D

I want us to send Hadise every year provided that we come back someday.
She is who made me love Eurovision, and she's having a great career these days.

What he says is nonsense, of course, but I still want Turkey back because I loved many entrys of them! :D If we would exclude every country whose politicians say stupid things, we wouldn't have many countries left for ESC.

Re: TURKEY 2019

Why not, Turkey has got super hot artists tbh even if I say so myself

Turkey in general do have some great artists but the issue I have is the TV channel being dictated to by the government (when I say govenment I mean Erdogan) There is no chance the act selected nor the voting would be impartial when one man decides all

Yes, that's why i would like to see them back only in case Turkey takes a more democratic direction.

You think Erdogan would pick the entry? Who knows maybe he'll lose the election... Maybe next time btw when you put something like that out there at least put some arguments with it so we know why you think that way. That one of you just came of as a hate post to me at first but I would agree with what you're saying now you've explained it

I personally wouldn't want TRT to participate either but I do know some channels like FOX imo that could do great, TRT would probably just embarrass us and mix politics to ESC
