I really like this song in studio version, listen to it very often, but today it was hard to take, he sang crap in my opinion. Which is huge shame, because I love the sound, the Turkish instruments and so on :( When it was like 8-9 position announced I started to think he actually may not make it, but in the end I felt that the golden ticket has to be for Turkey, just to keep us in tension.

I don't know how, but he HAS to improve in the final, otherwise I can't see it finishing Top10. I know it's not a singing contest (best ex. last year), he - I don't want to say ruin things, because it's way too strong, but Can with his singing takes the song a bit down.

c'mon, who deserved more? there were a bunch of silly songs tonight. being a ballad and supposedly saying important things about life / love doesn't make a song less silly.

i like the childish approach of our song. in the song itself he says "sing with me my children". so it's intentional.
the song is like from a game, preferably monkey island or sth. and i see nothing bad about it.

he has a fun attitude and he is really cute.

musically speaking, it doesn't have electronic beats in the background which makes it even more unique and special for me.

i have reasons to like it, i like it from the very first moment unlike hadise's or even manga's (show did sell this one to me though).
and i'm glad at least some people in europe went with it. but this may be a small group or a bigger one, we'll see in the final.

I like the background music, but I think the melody and lyrics are too childish for my taste.. sorry

I think had he stayed more close to his regular style and sung in Turkish, I would probably liked it more because he has an interesting style.. but not this song though.

Agree, I sort of liked the studio version, not top 3, but I rly liked it. But tonight it sounded nothing like the studio version I'm afraid, I was quite confident Turkey would get the final spot, as they did, but i'm not sure Can really deserved it after tonights performance.

Is it just me or does the order of announcing the qualifiers feel like a setup? Turkey is the last country to make it??? Hmm................

I like his other songs like "meczup" and "bana bir saz verin" better in many ways but it doesn't mean he didn't deserve tonight or the way you put it "stole someone's place".

I understand you, and the reasons behind not liking.

But I'm a small child inside with a deep love for the sea and pirates, high seas, cautions... and as we live in a World where Latvia once sent and actually achieved a good place with the song "Wolves Of The Sea", i think there is a place for me and my mates! And also a place in the final for Can Bonomo shouldn't be that surprising or irritating or devastating...

With THIS song, no I don't think he deserved it... with a song like "meczup", he would have probably been in my top. 5 though.. so you can see my concern is this particular entry, not him as an artist or Turkey as a country or anything.

I expected this situation. The countries which has similar musical culture with us would love our song but it would sound weird and bad to people from western countries. I'm talking for general of course. Tastes changes person to person.

I thought this was the least deserving qualifier from the second semi. I guess neighbours and diaspora votes helped them.

I wouldn't blame it on different music culture, I tend to like Turkish entries and TurkPop in general and I am very fond of Can's album... this does NOT represent him as an artist well.. if anything this entry is totally compromised to fit westerners.. the background music is Turkish, but not the actual song.

So ? The company which prepares the qualifiers list is Turkish. What does it matter?

I remember from last year that they said announcing is random, I guess otherwise we wouldn't be that interested in semi's results if we knew them by order of envelopes. I won't say he didn't deserve it, because I like it but there were much better performances. Like I said he needs improvement. I'm surprised actually that TRT knowing his live singing didn't arrange any vocal coach for him...

We got it! you don't like the song. OK.

Everyone is talking about diaspora as if we are the only ones who benefit from it. ridiculous!

The fact that they film 3 artists in the green room and one of them qualifies convinces me it's all a set-up!

The first five finalists were pre-filmed before the envelope was opened

Yeah? But people get so upset so one have to explain in here because some just can't take it...

No, you're not the only one, but you would lie to yourself if you said you weren't one those that benefits the most... it's just the truth and it is what it is.

I am not stating my personal opinion about the song but the draw should be random per the rules. I'm not too suspicious but it was rather weird.
