I guess i won't like it as most of Netherlands entries but let's stay postive!

if this demo is indeed their song and if it somehow wins, Denmark 2000 can be happy because they will be kicked out of my bottom 3 worst winning entries ever.

:'D gosh no, that song is horrendous. Again with this lifeless drab = super hype. Who betting on that.

It's quite haunting and sweet, but drags on a little bit. I have to say that I like the lo-fi basic feel from the demo so if this is the entry I actually hope it isn't too polished up from what we hear here. Not exactly a winner though...

Apparently, Duncan Laurence's management said 'this is not the official entry'.

Even if it isn't the entry, maybe they would have something in the same style....and that would be great I think. This reminds me a lot of Anthony & The Johnsons song "Hope There's Someone", one of my favorite songs ever. And if Netherlands even came close to it, that would be absolutely amazing. :D

Even when this isn't the song, I don't really know what to make of it. He sort of tries to Sound different, but the song doesn't get me. And it definitely doesn't have winner vibes. I like Albania still the most. That song has rather what you call winner vibes.

a like for this song, yes one of my favs too, ... but where antony/ anohni's voice sounds heavenly, I have my doubts about Duncan's falsetto...

Schlagerman1 I wasn't expecting to see Antony shared here when I opened the topic. I love her too and that song is very dear to me. It was the first song actually I sent to our WorldVision contest here on the forum. I have to admit she's lost me though quite drastically since she changed her name to ANOHNI and switched to making electronic music (I feel a big disconnect from it). I still love her old stuff though and I Am A Bird Now ranks high in my all time favourite albums list.

Back on topic, I'm glad that Duncan song isn't his entry because I think he could potentially offer something stronger. It's not bad or anything (serviceable) but it is a bit of a drag to sit through. I don't think he's the kind of artist that's going to end up high in my personal ranking, but I'm starting to feel now that it's likely I'll respect his entry at least. I think he could do very well at Eurovision.

Oh, well I haven't followed the carreer as intensive as you, but I always just loved that song. :D I sent it to NSC back in the days (didn't do that well, but still), and got it introduced like 8 years ago from one of my best friends that loved that song back then. But as you say about Duncans song, I am sure he has something stronger, but I wouldn't be surprised if they were thinking about this and in a sneaky way try to test the waters with this song...maybe we got some dutch spies here on the forum, reading everything we write. :?

It managed to come 5th somehow at WorldVisionxheat A few editions later I sent an Antony and Yoko Ono duet, I'm Going Away Smiling, that missed the final due to a voting error. Later on though another player (Krishoes) sent the Antony song Cut The World and it actually won the contest.

I hope the Dutch spies are here. Wouter Hamel 2020 please-O- Actually, I sometimes do think about whether we've got spies here on not. We must do. I occasionally think to myself "ermm.. maybe I should tone down my critiques".

You'll be pleased to know we actually do. The Slovenian delegation used screenshots of Peoples comments on this forum in their promotional pack at esc a few years ago, I think 2015. I'm sure all the others come on time to time to see how the songs are going down and what people say.
