Re: THE NETHERLANDS 2019

Do you consider 540km away from where you are close?:D That's the same distance from the most northern part of The Netherlands to France!

Do you mean Dutch YouTubers or international YouTubers? The Dutch YouTubers that are famous here are EnzoKnol, TheKing77NL/King Alert (Dutch version of Drama Alert), Kwebbelkop, DusDavid etc. But I don't follow any of them. It's not like I'm actually learning Portuguese, it's more like watching Nienke's videos then catch up some words. Oi gente tudo bem com voçes?:D

yes lmao it's the closest capital. And considering SP and Rio are about 3000km from here, 540km is fine lmao. Large countries things.

it could be both as long as they speak Dutch. I'll look for these ones! But if someday you actually start learning Portuguese, I can help somehow, just letting you know. No vídeo de hoje vamos falar sobre como se tornar fluente em holandês em dois anos!!!!!!!1111 (the only mistake was the spelling of 'vocês', anyway it's better than my dutch)

There simply aren't any internationally known YouTubers who speak Dutch in their videos.

ok now I have to translate

did you have topography as a subject in your school???? Or was it just a part of geography classes? I wonder if German for Dutch speakers is like Spanish for Portuguese speakers (and vice-versa), in a way of being a similar language which people think it's easier to learn because of its similarity when it isn't!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm doing better in English lmao. I was good at English at school because I had finished the intermediate course and we just learned the basics back there (and one of my teachers mispronounced words I was MAD). Now I'm back to the English course to be fluent - that's why I stopped Dutch for a bit.

I did not have any geography classes, just topography. Yes, it is. But after being on holidays in Germany for nearly 15 years, I still don't speak it that well:lol:

Wow. I'd be devastated because geography was my favorite subject back in school. IT HAPPENS!!!! Too bad I don't live that close to any Spanish-speaking countries so I have no idea how good it is right now..........................

I went to special schools since I was 13 because I was diagnosed with autism, so maybe I missed out on something:D

Re: THE NETHERLANDS 2019

Totally forgot to put in my suggestions for my country this year! And as the Eurovision season seems be warming up a year I might give it a try ;)
This year I woudn't mind if we just went 'Dutch', like in language, style or both. A band or an EDM entry is something I wouldn't mind either. The only thing I refuse is another country entry! So here are some suggestions:

1. Kensington: I will put this on #1 every year untill they get chosen. They pass the rumor mill every year and it feels like it is time. I miss a well produced, well written rock entry. The last feels like it was Softengine in 2014.

2. Davina Michelle: When talking about a typical 'Dutch' song, this is what comes to mind as a most recent example. This song is already a huge hit in our country and something similar could do really well, despite being in our native language.

3. Chef'Special: Probably the most diverse and talented out of all of these. I just love how they can write completely different songs. I didn't even know they were Dutch until a short time ago. Their sound is just so 'international' that you wonder why there songs are not huge hits abroad. I'm sure they would come up with something amazing and original, both as a song and on stage.

4. Ilse de Lange: Any entry of Ilse would be pure class. People who want to complain to me that she would send 'another country song', I would tell them she is capable of much more than that. This song is an example of that.

5. Blof: I'm one of the few that would love to see them at the Eurovision stage and I doubt they want to go, but I can at least give it a try. They are also one of the few artists that have a good 'Dutch' sound without sounding cheap (I know this song is a remake, it's still good :p)

5. Literally ANY DJ we have featured by a capable singer and performer. I'm thinking Martin Garrix, Armin van Buuren or Afrojack. With vocals it could be anyone, but Eva Simons could be an example. I know this probably will never happen as they are too big, but it's still nice to think about.

I saw them live in Warsaw and Tilburg this year. I simply love them... what a wonderful Christmas present it would be

I think that 2019 is out of question but I would love them to take part in the future. Eurovision is and should be even more open towards different genres. It's a show for everyone xheart

Re: THE NETHERLANDS 2019

Probably not this year but oh well, WITHIN TEMPTATION seems to be warming up to the idea of representing the Netherlands.

In a recent interview, they just said that they "maybe should consider it" :D

That would be awesome! :D Unfortunately Heavy Rock is still a genre that is accepted so much. AWS was a proof. The televoters accepted it more than the Juries. But I was happy enough that Hungary sent them to ESC. AWS is one of my ESC faves ever!

Within Temptation are not heavy rock though... I don't see the juries mind this so much... AWS was way too out there for the juries (hardcore, in local language etc) and the juries like to stay in their safe bubble.

Within Temptation are Symphonic Metal. The juries would be still likely to hurt it. But I would still love them to go.
