What's wrong with Germany France and UK and their vote??????? X-OI

50% diaspora voters who doesn't care about countries like Netherlands, and 50% juries who doesn't give a vote to anything outside the box.

Meh, the performance was not exceptional and she would've needed just that to make a difference.

So sorry for Joan. Her song was really good, Joan's performance was good. I don't know, everything was enough for her to qualify. This happens when you don't have neighbour or diaspora votes (comes from a Turkish, yes).

It was a great song Netherlands and Portugal did very nice job tonight.

Would be interesting to see where the votes went in the semi's, but we won't find out till after.
I liked the song, but then i loved last years for The Netherlands.. I'd hoped this was going to go through but after the performance felt it wouldn't.
Wouldn't surprise me if you left this year for a while =(.

Personally I really wouldn't mind if my country withdrew for an unknown number of years. A lot of people have already lost interest in the past decade and this year's result only adds to the apathy. There will come a moment for contemplation and trying to find a balance between psychological value of this contest for The Netherlands and the financial costs.

you guys say that every year. and every year you stay with a high hope on your song... Withdrawing is not the solution. maybe in 2013 ?

I know we say that every year. But now it will be almost a decade without a spot in the final. And this time it feels a bit different because many believed, both in my country and in Europe, that we really had a good song.

I totally get your pessimism at this point. I always suggest to just sleep over it and you may feel differently about it tomorrow. It's not secret that Netherlands had the best song IMO but I'm also the first to admit they butchered the performance so I wasn't surprised in the end, still very disappointed though.

You should ask le Swedes to write a song for you.

then you should abandon all hope. once you do that, u will Q. seriously :D
maybe you should stop trying to make a song "for Europe" and try to make your song. just that.

I already considered that. Multiple times.

I wanted to write:

Maybe we should buy a song at the IKEA

but that would be too rude, wouldn't it?

When I first watched the Dutch selection I could not take my eye of the indian headress and therefore didn't pay to much attention to the song. I thought it was rather stupid. A few more times I heard it and I loved the song for that alone

50 million people (the regular non-hardcore fan people) tonight would have watched the song for the first time tonight and all they would have seen would be a girl in a indian headress and would have not understood the message.

I love your song Joan but you made my favourite entry of 2012 looky messy, complicated and cheap.

Dissapointed but not surprised :?

Im soo sad for Joan! Im soo sad for The Netherlands. God you really deserved it this year. Sweet, charming little song with alot of warmth and character. I really thought that Joan would make it to.. then I saw Malta's name called and was like "Ohhhhh deeeeear" :(

Next year I think you should send Sieneke ft The Toppers with "Ik Ben Verliefd (Sha-la-lie) part 2". Europe will not know whats hit them! Sure fire winner right there.

:nl: Please don't balme neigbour voting. :ie: Ireland and :mt: Malta, who had no neigbours or allies voting in their semi's still manged to get through on their songs. What we call 'isolated' countries still manage to get through every now and again.

Who is blaming neighbour voting tonight?? I know I didn't. Where on these last few pages do you read about neighbour voting?
