Without knowing anything about venues, I vote for Rome xcheer

Yeah, I know there are other cities in Italy too but yeah, I'd still go with the capital here...

I've boked hotel rooms in Rome, Milano, Turin and Bologna for 12-15 and 19-22 May

I also hope they pick Rome or Turin.

in the city of RHO near milan there is the largest fair in europe, just built. the problem is to know if there are open space pavilions with the height that meets the Eurovision requirements, does anyone know anything about it?

I think since this is Italy's chances of hosting since forever, they'll go for the bigger arenas. Pala Alpitour, Mediolanum, and PalaLottomatica is surely on lock in my prediction.

My bet is on Bologna.

20k capacity arena, not far away from the international airport.

Only concern is transportation and hotels, ive seen their's isnt great.

I also expect Italians to go big and support a city with a bigger arena.

Verona Arena would be epic, but I strongly doubt that it´s allowed to build a roof there due to preservation order.

The only credible option in Verona is the Veronafiere, maybe the verona arena could form part of the opening ceremony perhaps if that option was chosen.

The good thing about this option is that the press centre, euroclub can all be all on the same site.

There are a couple of other options to throw into the mix

Fortezza da Basso, Florence
Pordenone Fiere, Pordenone
PadovaFiere, Padua
Fiere Di Parma, Parma

Expected Requirements.

1. The venue must be covered and have a capacity of at least 10,000 and the roof must be at least 18m high.
2. an international press centre to accommodate 1,500 journalists
3. Venues for the Opening/Closing ceremonies must be provided for at least 3,000 people
4. At least 2,000 hotel rooms, 1,000 for delegations, 1,000 for media and fans.
5. The venue must be located near an international airport and have good transport links to and from the venue.

As I was expecting it, but I´m still hoping a bit for Bologna, don´t ask me why though.
In Bologna you eat well, there are sensual women and ... after the ESC you can head to Rimini or Riccione. I understand you. It is a great choice. But there are big cities that want to miss this opportunity. My feeling? Rome 2022 at the Pala Lottomatica. The Maneskins are also Roman.

I fixed it for you. ;)

To be honest I prefer not having it in Rome, simply because it´s too crowded already and an ESC there wouldn´t be anything special because of all the other events there. For the same reason I was opposed to Amsterdam as a host city in the Netherlands.

Another possible venue for Milan that the municipality has been cosidering, apart from the Mediolanum Forum, is Palazzo delle Scintille (Sparks' Palace).

Palazzo delle Scintille was built in the 1920s to hold sport events, but in the '60s it was trasformed in an expo space. They stopped using it in the '90s but last year it was entirly renovated as a multiporpused space for expos, concerts and theatre events. It can accomodate up to 13,500 people as a concert venue, more than Mediolanum Forum (12,300) and, while the Forum is actually in Assago (a suburb of Milan), Palazzo delle Scintille is the central district of Citylife, a new and trendy area.

  • Düsseldorf: 12 October 2010
  • Baku: 8 September 2011
  • Malmö: 8 July 2012
  • Copenhagen: 2 September 2013
  • Vienna: 6 August 2014
  • Stockholm: 8 July 2015
  • Kyiv: 9 September 2016
  • Lisbon: 25 July 2017
