Here are some average-viewing-figures for the final I found - feel free to add those who aren't already here! xheya
The last number shows the increase or decrease compared to 2013.

:de:
8.96 mil. (34,7%) +750 000

:it:
1,75 mil. (8,77%) -150 000

:uk:
8.79 mil. (41,7%) +1 070 000

:nl:
5.1 mil. (-) +300 000

:fr:
2.6 mil. (13,4%) -100 000

:at:
1.3 mil. (58,5%)

The percent, is that the increase?

Slightly better in Spain, but still far from our best figures (2002, 2003, 2004 2008, and also 2001, 2010 or 2012).

Average: 5.141.000 (35,2%) (+2,1%)
Ruth's performance: 6.560.000 (40,9%)
Minute with the most viewers: 00:26 - 6.953.000 (49,5%)

:ro: 1.3 mil (20,2 %)

I'm always surprised by the low viewing figures in Romania. One wouldn't imagine this if we know Romania is one of the most succesful countries and usually take this contest seriously.

I think the big 5 would benefit of participating in a semi-final.

Anywho, this looks great.

In terms of viewing figures.... no way. Low figures in Italy and France would increase and could miserably fall in UK, Germany or Spain (countries that give a lot of audience to the contest) if they didn't qualify.

???? we don't have many songs from which to choose in selections, Eurovision is not so popular among composers, they all are saying "its just politics, why compete?" :)

Anyway, 20,3% is not so bad.The public broadcaster has been in first place in the ratings on the interval 22.00-1.30, during the final.

France is so low beacause we send crappy and crappier entries every time.

I feel like everyone in Europe is starting to like Eurovision again except in France so i'm extremely worried about us.

They put zero energy into selecting the song and creating a good show. Okay the performance for France was dreadful but they made no effort on the backdrop, no effort on the costumes, no effort on the stage....
I have been saying this about Austria for the past couple of years. I've made no bones about that I thought (wrongly) we wouldn't make the cut this year either. And there you go - out of the blue we've won the contest. What I'm trying to say is: nevermind bookies or experts (or especially my opinion), maybe France will soon win it with a dark horse entry that you or the French public considered nothing special. Anything can happen in Eurovision.

These were by the way the ratings in Germany of the last few years:

2009: 6,13 Mio. (2,97 Mio.)
2010: 14,69 Mio. (8,38 Mio.)
2011: 13,83 Mio. (7,34 Mio.)
2012: 8,29 Mio. (4,11 Mio.)
2013: 8,21 Mio. (4,25 Mio.)

At the end are the numbers of viewers between 14 and 49 years of age.

2014: 8,96 Mio. (4,48 Mio.)

Market share:
overall: 34,7%
14-49: 41,9%

The ARD generally only get such a high market share among young people with football games of the national team.

I also found some ratings for the semis in Germany. Both semis were shown live on two channels at the same time, Phoenix and EinsPlus.

1th semi on Phoenix:
270.000 viewers overall (1,0%)
market share 14-49: 1,4%

2nd semi on Phoenix:
470.000 viewers overall (1,7%)
market share 14-49: 2,5%

EinsPlus doesn't publish ratings, but it is also a very small channel and they showed during the whole shows tweets on the right side of the screen, which some may have found annoying.

Ratings for the 2nd semi in Austria. Channel ORF.

Start of the show: 652.000 viewers (24%)
From 22:45 onward: 822.000 viewers (44%)

Re: How well was Eurovision followed in your country?

It is interesting that this year the interest was bigger when we didn't take part then last year when we did have an entry  I think this is promising and that it is a good sign :D
