I think the line-up isn't that bad... And I really like "The Last Of Our Kind"!

Re: SWITZERLAND 2016

I'm massively in love with Elephant. It's got a great groove to it and I just want to dance to it. It reminds me a little of Ed Sheeran, a little of Vampire Weekend. It's something we don't really hear at Eurovision and I really want it to win. They're halfway there with the staging. A live version of the music video could be amazing. Get that right and it could get top half in Stockholm.

I'm already bracing myself for Switzerland to pick that something much more conventionally Eurovision. Rykka does nothing for me, but seems to tick the boxes.

Elias has already said Camila from the video will be on stage and thats a great move as they work so well together.I had Rykka down as a possible winner from the start ,mainly as like you say she ticks the boxes though i do also think she has some talent and potential. My main bets would of been on her.Id love to see Elias take this though as well and id of had a sneaky outsider punt on him.He is easily the most talented, but he needs to get past the notorious "expert" check now that doesnt have the best record.Lets hope he makes the final.

It already won North Vision. And IMO, it's better and stronger than her pre-selection song.

"Holz vor dr Hütta" is the only one i want to hear in May. Well maybe "Elephant" too, but i'm sure they'll pick something else...:?

Re: SWITZERLAND 2016

No Maria Christina is just outrageous. Once again i'm left puzzled by the selected songs. Just sifted through what made it and it was quite a chore. Just two songs stood out.

Stephanie Palazzo's "Perché mi guardi cosi?" is rather beautiful. The live performance really has me sold. Of course, we can't have live music at Eurovision so it will lose some of it's charm. I'd like to hear how the studio version sounds.

The second one that I found myself getting strangely excited for..

The weird thing is that I can't usually cope with folk/country pop tunes, especially those being sent to Eurovision. Something about Sunanda's song has me charmed. I know i'm a sucker for steel guitars so that probably helps. I just think it's a wonderfully sassy, twangy little number. Naturally cute without being sickly sweet and the music is delightful. The video is lovely as well. That dancing in front of the log pilexheat This is the kind of song i'd have to go easy on though. It does seem like something that could end up driving me nuts eventually. At the moment i'm smittenxheart

Sunanda for Switzerland please!!

Re: SWITZERLAND 2016

Sunanda is my favourite tbh. Cute addictive little song. I've listened to it too many times already. Sunanda for Switzerland x2 xcheer :D

Theo's song I really love as well... The atmosphere in it is amazing. But the lyrics don't really match the quality of the song and that brings it down a bit for me. Or maybe it's just the accent... They're not as bad as in 95% of the other songs here though.

"Elephant" is just great. A+ xmusic xup

"The Last Of Our Kind" has potential I guess, but I feel like it's too overrated already and it's not very memorable to me.

I also kind of like "Left With An Idiot".

Others are just... well... either pure plain mediocre, boring, irritating, or have terrible or cheesy lyrics.

:)

I seriously can't see Sunanda representing Switzerland, the song is so grating on my ears

Re: SWITZERLAND 2016

Switzerland used to choose their song before other countries, in December. Why so late this time?

I'm pleasantly surprised at the Sunanda love, as it stuck out instantly for me too on first listen of the 19 songs.
It's so wonderfully odd and charming. Sunanda herself is very cute and oozes charisma.
I actually think the song sounds like the result of a one night stand between Sebaltar and Joan Franka which is amazing :D

I'm not enamored with Sunanda...xshifty

I'll give her song a few more listens and try to figure out why folk seem to be falling over themselves for her.

Re: SWITZERLAND 2016

I can't wait to find out on Sunday who actually makes it. Wiwi's got a poll going and the two Spanish acts are first and third with Rykka in the middle. I listened to some of Maika's song and it feels like a bad Bon Jovi cover to me - nothing special

Re: SWITZERLAND 2016

I can totally see Sunanda attracting a cult following :D
Regarding the song, the start is very abrupt and needs a little more of a natural build up as the ending is great.
I also hope she can sing live and has a good presentation ready for the the judges.

Re: SWITZERLAND 2016

1. Ich bin ich - I would so go see her live at a venue with a capacity of no more than 500. As arena material, though, it'll be horrifically obnoxious.
2. Half a Smile - BOOOOOOOOOOOO. Would be my #43. Even if one of those two songs in the Belarusian selection I hate wins. I'm allergic to this awful, awful, AWFUL song. It's obnoxious, slimy, and languid all in one. Horrendous.
3. Asking me Why - Absolutely in love with the minor part at the beginning. Much less sold from the first chorus onward. His diction is annoyingly good.
4. The Reason - I should hate this but don't. Not a fan, no, but his voice has a little nuance and depth to it.
5. Holz vor dr Hütta - made me chuckle a little, I guess. Shame about the song.
6. The Last of Our Kind - zzzzzz
7. Feel the Love - WHAT IS WITH THESE SINGERS AND INAPPROPRIATELY GOOD DICTION. Get past that, and there's a nice electronica number underneath. I don't usually like EDM, but there's something I'm into here - not sure what. I could be persuaded to give this the hype treatment.
8. No Boundaries - I forgot to write a comment about this one at first.
9. Whoopsie how do you undo this - Y'all finally wore me down. I like this, and a lot. Part of it is that she seems charming, and part of it is that it sounds convincing in the context of its genre (my main complaint about "Calm After the Storm," a song I hold in the highest meh).
10. Have a Little Faith in Me - A nice Demi Lovato-ish number with an accent that gives it a charming DIY feel but dragged down by lyrics that sound a bit too..on-the-nose. I think this'll win the NF.
11. Another World - Holy. Hell. How did I not notice this? This is amazing. Either it's going to win the selection and be in my top 5 this year, or it's one of my next FdN songs. This is going to be one of my big hype songs. I just gave it two listens and hit the replay button for a third. This kind of Bond-y ballad that actually has some drama to it slays my peaceful vagina, as one YouTube comment for Hungary 2015 once said. Could be my #2 after Kaliopi.
12. Left with an Idiot - *GASP* she said bitch! That's the only notable thing about this entry.
13. Disque d'or - Ohhhhhh if Another World can't win, can this, please? A positively lovely song that had me smiling and awkwardly nodding. Boris Lowjob from the video is me tbh xheat
14. Generation Demain - WOOF. Shame about the song, though. COME ON, HOT GUYS. STOP DISAPPOINTING ME.
15. Perché mi guardi cosi? - Aww, another sweet one. It has a sad touch that I really like.
16. Flashback - this is probably going to be one of the ones to which I listen the most, but I really don't see this working in a Eurovision context. It'll get swallowed completely by a large stage.
I listened to all three of the RSI ones, and they were all ridiculously same-y sounding and highly forgettable.
Sent from the heavens to bless us all by how absolutely amazing it is xheart xheat xheat
1. That's What It's All About - oh wait. xcry1
