While it's obvious the juries didn't support it we don't know if Switzerland ended up with the televoters in 5th. We only have average rank which means basically nothing.
I didn't think it was charming, they totally put the last nail in their own coffin with this awful live performance/vocals and a poor grandgrandgrandpa who didnt even understand what was going on, at least that was an impression. The song itself was fine, but not strong enough.

I thought "You and I" was okay and surprised it was 5th in the televote but definitely didn't deserve the trashing the jury gave it at all xhand
Do you think the Salvation Army connection and their perceived homophobia played a roll in their jury trashing or am I just paranoid xshifty
Overall I think "Hunter of Stars" is far better and maybe my favorite Swiss entry since "In Love for awhile"It gives me Cat Stevens vibes
Yes, I'm almost certain the juries trashed Switzerland to pieces last year due to their hate against Christians...
"In Love for a while" was pretty crap imo... this is better of course...
Finally someone who agrees with me! What a god awful song...

I don't believe you understand the concept of average ranking. The ranks are all based on the average placings and not points. You can easily have an average rank of 5th place and still only end up in 13th place based on points. The reality is, we don't know the proper scores. Best example is Ireland last year.

Completely agreed. Last year the performance was incrdibly boring, and they deserved to fail to qualify.

I don't get what you're trying to say, that's how the system works now, according to the combined ranking they were 5th in televoting and if you'd take away the jury votes, they'd qualify based on the current system...

They ended up 5th as an average. Its not to say under the old system they would of come 5th. For all we know they could of come first in some televotes and last in others? The average system is incredibly hard to determine how the country actually placed. Take Ireland and Spain for example. Spain was last in both televote and juries yet ended up 25th, and not 26th. Whereas Ireland was 14th in Televote and 23rd in Juries, yet came last in 26th.

I'm pleasantly surprised by this choice. I had initially dismissed all six songs in the Swiss NF when I first heard the studio recordings of them but this really comes alive on stage. The guys real charming.. in a manic sort of way The song is sweet and really catchy.
I think the vocal could improve. He seemed off time with the music in parts and his voice isn't the greatest. Strong accent which I can't decide whether I want him to improve or keep...
But yeah, nice one Switzerland. Hmmmm... 6 points for now and my second favourite chosen song only behind Albania. I can see this growing on me more and more.

Listening to this song again, I think that this is worse than I originally thought... It actually hurts my ears it's that bad :? the lyrics are terrible too... and for that I lower it to a nul points.
