Surprisingly I like it! :D It is hard to decide on points when there's nothing to compare it too, but I'll give it 6 points.
Actually Im not surprised with Lys Assia's placing, apart from Eurovision fans I cant really see her appealing to many others and she didnt really deserve to win with that song or performance.

The beginning sounds a bit like U2.

"Ivan and Gabriel grew up listening to Queen, Bob Marley and U2 and began playing music at an early age." from their biography :D

I'm really realy happy that grand mother Assia didn't qualify. And still the 8th place was too high for this old thing.

And also happy for the winner, I like the song !

I totally agree.

Wow, this is a fantastic entry. The beginning sounds a bit like U2. 2 jewels in a row from the Swiss. I just hope this one does better :)

Btw does anyone else think it's cute the way they pronounce it 'sweem against the strim'?

I do find it funny that they say "swim" in a way that rhymes with how stream should be pronounced and "stream" in a way that rhymes with how swim should be pronounced.

But I do like the song, I'm not sure if it going to be succesful.

A song that actually sounds...current, and chartable and modern. I like it. I don't love it, but it may grow on me.

Poor Lys. I've got to admit that I kinda loved the idea of having her in the contest, but I liked more the idea than the song, that wasn't really bad, but...not my cup of tea

The song was on my 7th place but it already grew on me. :D

I'm not so sure about :ch: qualifying though. In 2009 they had an entry in similar style, which was (imo) even better. I liked the music and lyrics but the live performance was just horrible.

Well, the singer of Sinplus is already better live, but I think he can still improve until May. And everything (of course) depends on other songs. So.. good luck! :D

Don't understand how anyone can hate this. This is absolutely amazing! 12 big points from me, and the best possible start of the ESC-season than I ever would've imagined. LOVE IT :D

I don't mind him mumbling the lyrics. It hides their banality. I like the song musically, though. They remind me a lot of The Killers.

Still would have preferred Lys. It would have been a great story and the song suits her perfectly. I know it's old fashioned, but I can't imagine her singing anything else. I don't need every song to be modern chart fayre. An old lady whistfully singing about the good old days will suit me fine. It had an atmosphere and appeal of its own.

Bland, bland, bland. Lys was, at least, funny.

Wow, great start to the 2012 season  The accent is incredibly thick, yes, but it does add a certain aspect of charm. Very catchy and it'll probably be stuck in my head for a while now. I'll give it 8 points as I dunno if it's fave-song-worthy yet (if that makes sense).

Massive lol at everyone throwing their toys out of the pram because Lys didn't win. If you don't like the winning song then fair enough but don't try and bring down the other people who like it and wanted it to win, everyone has different tastes.
