DanDesign posted his view this morning. That clip was released last night. Logical that he's commenting on that clip and he doesn't think it's just AI.
I mean isn't most what competes in Mello the epitome of "sounding like AI"? Even the competing acts by themselve look like yassified version of actual people.

I asked Chatgpt to score the lyrics using different criteria, and this is what it said:

Depth:

The lyrics use the idea of revolution and change as a rallying cry, but they don’t dig into any nuanced ideas or complex emotions. The message is straightforward rather than layered.

Score: 3/10

Lyrical Complexity:

The language is very simple and relies heavily on repetition. While repetition can be effective in anthemic or chant-like contexts, here it limits the complexity and variety of imagery or ideas.

Score: 2/10

Emotional Resonance:

The repeated phrases like People that will change the world and revolution might spark a motivational feeling in some listeners, yet the overall effect is generic. It may energize a crowd but doesn’t evoke a deep emotional journey.

Score: 4/10

Originality:

The theme of revolution and world change is a common one in inspirational music. The phrasing is familiar rather than innovative, which detracts from its uniqueness.

Score: 3/10

Structure and Cohesion:

The structure is very repetitive. There is a slight progression in the final stanza that hints at a long-awaited change, but overall, the repetitive nature makes it feel more like a chant than a fully developed narrative.

Score: 3/10

Overall Score:

Averaging these aspects gives an overall score of about 3/10. The lyrics function well as a simple, anthemic call to action but fall short in depth, complexity, and originality.

Even Chatgpt thinks the lyrics are generic 🤣🤣

I agree, MF writers like Thomas G:son take recent hits and write songs with the best essence of the hit but changed enough so as not to be recognisable (usually). That idea must also be a main part of an AI algorithm.

@Mrm

This one is for you. 3 songs that didn't win their semi but went #1 to spotify in Sweden the day after. :D

Unlike Hush Hush and On and On and On I don't get Yihaa as much and definitely wouldn't consider it real country but it was a fun performance at least. They should be in with a decent chance at grabbing one of the two wild cards.

Klara Hammarstrom is the only option for me this far - the live performance hits even harder than the studio cut, and that makes it a great option for Eurovision in my eyes

Revolution is so bad lmao
What a nothingburger of a song. We are politically extremely polarized and everyone on every aisle of politics feels some form of dread and anxiety over the future. And he is serving THIS kind of energy about Revolution? Bro, read the room. This is really peak 2015 in every aspect. This is not the time for bland anthems.

Sweden is not winning this year.

Could be argued you need to read the room too. Not everyone wants a song that’s politically charged or motivated.

Music can be an escape for people from what’s going on - they don’t necessarily want it to reflect what’s going on in the world. I find this attitude that the song ‘has’ to say something political or deep really off putting - especially in a year where you’ve got Estonia and Malta sending the offensive trash that they are.

Of this snippet, it doesn’t wow me, but is it awful? No. Inoffensive pop that people will happily listen to. How dare Sweden do that…

I understand the "Love Me Again" comparison now. Zelmerlöw's song is really generic and dated - Is it better than "Hereos"? - I strongly think it's trying to create an anthemic chorus to sing along as well but somehow it feels more formulaic and bland by doing so? - it's not a really bad song, either but I'm already exhausted thinking that that song could win the "professional" jury vote in May.

If Sweden wants to go the basic pop route again (no shade, we are all in need to get a few basic pop songs this year), I hope they would vote for Erika or Lundvik instead this time.

“Revolution” sounds good, but I’d still pick Klara for Eurovision. We’ll have to wait for Mans’ performance to see its final potential though

hm i don't think revolution is anything special at all. the part before the chorus reminds me a bit of nothing holding me back by Shawn Mendes. i dont mind the message of the song though, i think its at least empowering. still theres nothing overly exciting but i'm pretty sure they will have some good ideas to stage this well, this was what set heroes apart aswell. still i don't hear this as a song that has winner vibes yet

Well, from the snippet Måns' song is closer to "Happy That You Found Me" than "Every Minute" or "Tattoo" in terms of instant appeal :p The appeal of "Heroes" was mainly the staging and his charisma, so I guess we will know if we can count him out for a Mello win in a few hours after he has rehearsed. I really don't knowwhat he could possibly bring that would be on an equal level

I'm looking forward to Kaj's staging, according to Aftonbladet they will use pieces of firewood as their microphones. With juries in ESC being a bit more open to novelty/fun songs recently (especially international juries in national finals), I wonder how they will rate Kaj in the final, especially if they manage to rise more in the odds in the coming weeks. Certainly deserves to place higher than John Lundvik's garbage
