I hope Clara Klingenström is bringing a gem like "Behöver Inte Dig Idag", still one of the best songs of Melodifestivalen in recent years.

Looked it up and the last time a Swedish language song got to close out the season was "Evighet" in 2006...
I listened to an interview with them from the press conference, they really seem to be in it to win. The song is happier than In i dimman as well which I only think is to their benefit.

It was fun to watch Melodifestivalen 2023 because of the banter between the two hosts, even though I didn't understand it. I will certainly miss the banter this year, so it will be interesting to see how this edition of MF goes. This is only my second year watching the contest.

The Swedes need to pick a song sung in Swedish very soon. It’s becoming more and more absurd that they don’t. If the melody is strong enough, I’m sure they can achieve a great result.

At the moment the song below is a big radio hit in neighbouring Denmark. In fact, pop songs in Swedish regularly go big in Scandinavia. The Swedish language doesn’t ruin the chances of success.

So - come on, Swedes, you can do it.

More than 1,000 Swedish artists, producers, musicians, dancers demand :il: to be banned from participating, e.g. Robyn, Eric Saade, Miriam Bryant, Medina, Malena Ernman.

I firmly believe that, where possible, politics should remain out of Eurovision - the obvious exception to this being the expulsion of Russia from the EBU and suspension of Belarus due to their broadcasters breaching EBU rules.

I'm concerned primarily that the safety of the fans, delegations and those working on the contest in the arena and around Malmö would be compromised by Israel participating - we live in unprecedented times and I believe that the only way Israel can participate in this year's contest safely would be via satelite link, as with Australia in 2021 due to Covid restrictions at that time.

But even with the above in place, the risk is still there, as the EBU are seen as siding with genocide to some... it's so difficult - both sides have experienced horrendous atrocities and I do firmly believe that Eurovision should stand for what it was implemented to do - unite a war torn Europe. Is that with or without Israel though...
