Wiktorias snippet is dangerously underwhelming, I'm at risk of writing it off before hearing the rest i disliked it that much. Maria Sur i think actually has quite nice cute ballad. It doesn't feel very MF winner at all, but it's nice. Panetoz sounded potentially promising, but the rest aren't worth the time of day at all. Loreens song in heat 4 better be actually good because it feels built up for her. Spoiler/ i hated 'statements'. It got what it deserved and was manufactured nonsense. Also she her English was unintelligible for 95% of that song, crucial when the lyrics were meant to mean something in it.

Quick thoughts and scores out of 10 to the Semi 2 1-min clips:

1. "All My Life (Where Have You Been)" Wiktoria 4p
The verse starts decent, a little 80s vibe that makes me hopeful for something good. But the chorus is a huge let down. Repetive, uninspiring and it doesn't suit her at all. I get so bored and I fear that Wiktoria might have waited too long for her Melfest comeback, so now, SVT has stopped caring about her and give her what seems to be a meh song. She will have trouble even going to the And...I mean "Semifinal".

2. "Comfortable" Eden 3p
Eden has a beautiful voice, but wish the song being a bit stronger. This reminds me a bit of Marie Lindberg, the music teacher who shocked the whole country in 2007 and went to the final. But this ain't as strong as that song and Eden may perhaps not have the same charm as the old teacher had. Could see it end last.

3. "Grytan" Uje Brandelius 5p
Weird to have an another rather slow song next, but the swedish lyrics are quite fun and charming. Uje is known as a singer in the alternative popband Doktor Kosmos, but in particular for his movie "Spring Uje Spring" which showcases his life with Parkinsons disease, so it might be a moment to see him sing again. The song is rather nice, perhaps a little too slow for my taste, but could see it go to the Semifinal.

4. "On My Way" Panetoz 4p
An another group where I wonder if they waited a bit too long for a comeback. This is not as strong as their previous songs. But after three rather slow songs, then this comes as a breath of air, with this World Cup-Anthem latin melody. Very hard to predict and also very hard to know how I feel about it. I found it okay I guess, but it doesn't make me feel excited or happy the same way as they have before.

5. "Now I Know" Tennessee Tears 2p
This feels like a danish entry on the first listen. And they sing very good. But I don't know, I feel a bit bored by this. I could see it do rather well though, not top 2, but fight for a place in the semifinal is possible for sure. But for me, I just want to go to next song.

6. "Never Give Up" Maria Sur 8p
Marias beautiful voice fits this song very well. Feels like an old-fashioned Eurovision-ballad, but with a pretty fresh package. This will touch the heartstrings of many at home and I do agree that it feels like she means every word she sings. Potential best entry so far in Melfest and I don't rule out a potential winner here, despite perhaps not being the most original and exciting of songs. Not that it always have to be though.

7. "Mer Av Dig" Theoz 8p
This is fun summer swedish pop song, reminds a bit of the song last year that was in my top 5 in the end. And this is almost as good, makes me wanna dance and sing a long. And we know from last year that Theoz is a good performer so I don't feel worried at all that he will bring a show. I like this as well, potential to be among my top 5 of Melfest 2023, again!

So my ranking for now will be:
1. Maria Sur
2. Theoz
3. Uje Brandelius
4. Panetoz
5. Wiktoria
6. Eden
7. Tennessee Tears

And my guess at the moment is:
F Maria Sur
F Theoz
S Uje Brandelius
S Panetoz
5. Tennessee Tears
6. Wiktoria
7. Eden

Wiktoria -
Maria Sur - a twin song of Angelina's Vidbir entry, but with more interesting vocals. I don't get hate from crystal trash, I can live with pain/rain lyrics. Wish she could take part in Vidbir, we would elevated this dated song with awesome staging.

At this point, with such "competition" Loreen can simply stand on stage doing nothing and I will give her :12: xlove

01 Maria Sur – Never Give Up 8/10
02 Panetoz – On my way 8/10
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
03 Tennessee Tears – Now I know 6/10
04 Theoz – Mer av dig 4/10
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
05 Wiktoria – All my life (Where have you been) 3/10
06 Eden – Comfortable 3/10
07 Uje Brandelius – Grytan 2/10

This semi is not so good, most of the songs are really disappointing, really sad as Semi 1 started very good. Maria & Panetoz has good songs, that i like. Tennesse Tears has a okay song from the first hear, maybe the full song is better. The rest is soo boring.

My Prediction

Final: Panetoz
Final: Maria Sur
--------------------------------------
AC: Wiktoria
AC: Theoz
--------------------------------------
5th Eden
6th Tennessee Tears
7th Uje Brandelius

Maria's song has a lot of potential. I could see this doing very well at Eurovision. Yes, it's a generic ballad but imo generic in a good way. That part when she sings "When I'm standing in the rain..." and the instrumental changes gives me the shivers.

I don't know how it's possible for the Crystal Ball to have heard the songs unless that person is part of the SVT production (or as they allegedly posted that they got fired by EBU because of those "leaks").

We listen to the songs every Tuesday morning.
I think that post about being fired from the EBU was a joke. But it truly is a mystery how they manage to get insider information on so many NF's around Europe.
Everything they said about the Heat 2 songs is lining up with the snippets and the info we got from the press so far, so I think they did in fact have access to the songs. In a broader note, everything they have leaked so far in this Eurovision season has been right, except for Marija Serifovic taking part in Serbia's PzE and Daughter taking part in Ireland's Eurosong (and in both of those cases I think what happened was the artists pulling out last minute)
They've had leaks about every major NF so far except for maybe FdC and Benidorm Fest, so they have a way of getting information from almost every delegation. This is truly a really interesting mystery, I can't wait for the day we'll find out who the people behind this account are, not gonna lie

It's super obvious that Crystal Ball is Christer Bjorkman
Honestly I wouldn't put it past him
Homeboy is retired after his prized creation, the American Song Contest, flopped hard, and he's just trying to have his fan planting chaos among the fandom now

It could be more than 1 person finding the information, especially to have such wide range of information on many countries - or someone with too much free time. Sweden is the anomaly here i think, but most of their leaks are coming from countries where leaks aren't so massively surprising anyway. If they manage to leak our entry early then I will be super impressed and also surprised.

OK, Sweden continues to be boring this year. I'd let go DTF Theoz and Tennessee Tears, even if I won't listen to these songs outside of Eurovision bubble. Maria Sur's song sounds tearjacking and, I'm afraid, uninspired. Same story for Wiktoria, this chorus is such a letdown!

Seems like this year, Loreen might sing an old Göteborg phone book from 1972 and she would win anyway

Oh god, what a weak bunch of songs this seems to be. I was really hoping for Theoz, but his song is not at all what i hoped for, maybe it turns out better live than in this version. The others... not even worth any comments. Does it bother anyone else that Eden sounds exactly like somebody else and i can't figure out who? The lack of pronounciation and the "growled" notes... maybe a blend of Cornelia Jakobs and Loreen?

Overall prediction:
DTF- Theoz and umm.... Maria Sur or Wiktoria?
Second AC - Panetoz or Tennessee Tears?
Uje Brandelius definitely out, Eden could possibly make it to AC.

I love Maria’s song. It’s nothing revolutionary or unique, but it’s emotional and glorious. Just my cup of tea. If you mix it with the right staging it could be a perfect Eurovision entry. Also Sweden doesn’t send a lot of ballads so maybe it’s time again
