As always the best of are in the first half of the running order and take the worst positions. Yes I'm talking about Loreen with 9th order and Blanka with 4-th. Anyway I'll vote for them and support till the last second but I'm doubt about those who just turn on TV and hear all songs for the first time. They're most of televoters and usually have a weak memory.

I will vote for :se: and :pl: as well.

why does sweden need a wake up call? their concept works every year - sometimes more sometimes less. they even export it big style to other countries (well a little less in recent years but wait for :az: 2024 )
I feel it comes from the worry that Melfest is becoming a little too much of a TV spectacle; a growing emphasis on backstory and X Factor-like elements which, whilst they make for good TV it doesn't mean to say it makes for a good Eurovision selection. I will admit I am a casual and new observer of it so I can't say for certain. But I will be honest, whilst I have largely enjoyed the songs Sweden has put through to the contest some of those second placers were, well, I don't think they'd have been considered potential favourites had they won.

Of course, Sweden isn't like other nations in the contest, I feel that if something goes wrong and they get a bad result they'll dust themselves off and do their best to improve rather than double down on stuff that doesn't work. I frankly cannot see a world where Sweden gets a bad result one year and ends up like the UK after 2003 sending trash year after year and blaming everyone else.

Melfest has become a scam. An internally selected artist and 27 hopeless fillers enveloped in a huge televoting money machine. Since 2021, maybe even 2018 after the Statements debacle in a crowded field of strong songs. it’s not competitive anymore by design. 2015 with Mans winning was insanely competitive.

This is the story Sweden sells. Reality is far more problematic though. Do keep in mind Sweden tends to send exactly what juries will like in pop, their televote is far more erratic. Also keep in mind Sweden is the main recipient of an absolutely scandalous voting bloc. If for instance Portugal was doing what Sweden was doing it would be less noticeable and these arguments wouldn't be made. Oh hello there Switzerland.

what exactly is it what Sweden is doing? sending songs that appeal to masses? well yes! Portugal is far from doing that.

Its the most competitive NF by far.
And btw. Marcus and Martinus probably would have been Top5 as well.

I have watched many votings from the past recently, and Norway, Denmark and Sweden voting were really scandalous. The audience burst in laughter when they swapped points, but now it’s OK apparently

Just read what I wrote and consider the balance between jury and televote results for Sweden in the last decade or so.

Sweden's formula is working, I don't know why they'd need to change it. They've had a run of good results and Loreen will win tonight or come top 3.

Personally I don't normally love their entries but clearly the strategy works, they storm the jury most years and do well in televote.

I think the Swedes are also mature enough in their attitudes not to 'throw their toys out of the pram' if they get a disappointing result one year.

I really like the song but not sure if I want it to win, I prefer some other contenders

Regardless of that I wish best of luck to Loreen xheart
