No need to apologize
'Cause there’s nothing to regret
Well, this is not what I wanted
Guess all the good things come to an end

So baby bye, bye
Wish you the best
But most of alI I wish that I could love you less
Well, maybe you're right
I'll find someone else
You say it isn't me, but when did that ever help?

Hold me closer
Although you'll leave before the sunrise
I'll be bleeding, but don't you mind, I'll be fine
Oh, it kills me
I found the right one at the wrong time
But until the sunrise
Hold tight, hold tight

Maybe it happened too fast
I guess that I understand
You say that you've never felt this way for anyone
And that's why it scares you to death

So baby bye, bye
Know it's for the best
Still I can't see how that would ease the pain in my chest

Hold me closer
Although you'll leave before the sunrise
I'll be bleeding, but don't you, mind I'll be fine
Oh, it kills me
I found the right one at the wrong time
But until the sunrise
Could you just hold me tight?
I know, I have to let go, but just give me the night

'Cause tomorrow will hurt
Hurt really bad
'Cause I’m about to lose the best I ever had

Hold me closer
Although you'll leave before the sunrise
I'll be bleeding, but don't you mind, I'll be fine
Oh, it kills me
I found the right one at the wrong time
But until the sunrise
Could you just hold me tight?
I know, I have to let go, but just give me the night (Hold me tight, hold me tight)

Can't you see that you found the right one at the wrong time?
It was just the wrong time
Hold tight, hold tight

Anyone who loves Lana del Rey (and I do) will have to love this. 12 points!
I love her music (more her older stuff - her debut is still the best she's released).
I do see what you mean now that I gave it another listen. But Cornelia doesn't reach Lana's level at all. Cornelia's voice isn't anywhere near as powerful and with as an impressive range. And the song isn't as experimental as Lana's music/texts usually are.
So, though I see what you mean (now), I didn't make the connection myself, and I wouldn't say I love this entry. It's good but...xshrug

So I was in the arena wearing a shirt I haven't worn in a long time, then I feel something in my pocket: a single card, spades ten. I have no clue where it came from because I rarely play card games and I took it as a sign that song number 10 was going to win and it did! My friend kept telling me the cheers for Anders were too loud and that he would win for sure but I had the card on my mind

Some thoughts

- Klara Hammaström had AMAZING energy live, better than on TV. Even my friend who before the show proclaimed she disliked the song couldn't help but to clap along to it.

- People LOVED the dress reveal that Tone had, definitely one of the biggest cheers of the night

- This kid in front of me gave every artist 5 votes except for Cornelia who got 0 and I

- Don't know if it came across on TV but the whole arena gave off a little laugh when Robin only got 5 points

Obvious sabotage to give a JESC song the 12 and the jury flop a 10
Czechia is one of the fairest jurors in all of Eurovision and Sweden themselves got their fair share of Czech jury support in Eurovision. Maybe Czechia voted according to themselves what they deemed correct without musings about what SVT would want or how they can get on the IJ panel for the years to come. I feel like the countries which are always on the IJ panel always vote according to "plan", and the others don't do that.

I must admit after a few listens the song has grown on me a bit. Still far from a favorite, but I'd give it a :10: at this point.

So, firstly congrats to Cornelia xclap

The song is fine, surely one of the stronger ones in this year's MF and our best entry since 2019, although I am not as sold on it as many others might be, on the other hand not sure what other song from this year's MF that could have been a better choice (other than Cazzi Opeia that should have won imho and would have been something different for both Sweden and eurovision). Although I must say the MF final was fine, considering how bad this season started it shaped up to be a pretty good final and I think almost every song there was ok, but the problem is ok isn't good enough.

Is it just me though, or does Cornelia's song sound a bit like Keane's Everybody's Changing in parts?

Melodifestivalen having a happy outcome? What is this year! "Hold Me Closer" was pretty much the only song I enjoyed in this line-up so I'm happy. Deltävling 1 was also the only one I watched live lol. It feels good to finally support :se: in ESC again. I hope Cornelia's victory is a sign that Melodifestivalen will overcome this slump it find itself in the past few years.

And Deban‘s right ;)
Deban seems more independent, he is not showing up at every national selection like other wiwibloggers. On the other hand, William shredded Sweden to bits in recent years, especially in 2018, and now he is in awe.

Tumblr, mostly.
A WOMAN IS REPRESENTING SWEDEN!!!! YES!!! THE CURSE IS DEAD!!! THE CURSE IS DEAD!!! EAT SHIT CHRISTER!!!

What do you want me to even add to what others have said about Cornelia. "Hold me closer" is a delightful song with so much rawness, with so much realness that will SMASH it in Turin.

Lol at people ("people") claiming she's a flop or even an NQ because she didn't win the televote ARE YOU FUCKING DENSE??? The Brividi stans can stay tilted. Their gaybaiting Rock & Roll Gays shit would never have won anyway, keep deluding urself until they finally strand themselves in 4th place, BEHIND Queen Corny...x

:10: points to Sweden. ^_^

that’s just your opinion then because the entire top 10 on Sweden’s Spotify consists of finalists

that’s such a dumb thing to say considering the 5 jury members change each year

I feel like the countries which are always on the IJ panel always vote according to "plan", and the others don't do that.
and the juries just secretly met and decided to go against the huge media hype YOHIO had and tank him in 2013? lol

Like every year after a final, what's the "argument" here because I don't get it? xshrug

Anyways I do think this final is a step up from previous years, problem is that there weren't any real standouts.

If you don't think the quality or success of a line-up is measured in popularity or streams then I can't really change your mind. Spotify is a HUGE platform in Sweden, it is the one, and the top list for Sweden right now is dominated by Melfest songs.

No I don't think so, because this is standard the first week after MF finals each year.

Also, I didn't even mention the words "success" or "popularity", I just stated my own opinion on the entries as ok... that's a different thing. Whether a song becomes popular or not (again too early to tell, we can only evaluate that based on the songs longevity and not initial chart reaction) is hardly going to influence my own taste.

It's interesting though when I ultimately said something positive about this years MF you made it sound like I said something bad. So again, I think the general level of the MF final was a step up from previous years, but I miss songs that really stand out and has some impact, most was simply ok (which isn't a bad thing per se), but I miss some originality or something grand. I am left quite empty.
