Re: SWEDEN 2019

Sweden should send something good. Probably my top pick for Sweden would be Arch Enemy, but i guess that they are too succesful to do MF as of now.

Other really nice artists could be for example Fever Ray

or if you want to go full on gimmicky, then something like Wintergatan featuring someone.

Essentially the dream would be to have somethng other than generic pop.

I predict the swedish entry to have more 0s than 12s.

Re: SWEDEN 2019

A female artist, please. Or females.
A group of 6 women, why not? Singing hell of a schlager song, cheesy and OTT af.

That's the Sweden we want to see.

Make :se: Great Again!!

Wintergatan is superb, I always thought he was from Finland. My little son is a huge marble fan and he loves the marble machine!

Re: SWEDEN 2019

No hate against Sweden? I guess you have lived under a rock for the last years...

And as said "not like" a song is not a reason to spread hate the way we have seen this year.

Even if we would send Zara Larsson or Loreen next year with world hit we would still get the usual hate from ESC fans...

Sweden is one of the most inoffensive and least controversial countries in this entire contest, thinking otherwise is just juvenile and delusional. You can't recycle the same entry and expect people to worship it every year, it's that simple. Are you really this surprised? It is exactly this blind chauvinistic way of thinking that leaves you baffled by the results when it turns out that you didn't do as well as you thought you would. There is really no excuse as to our failure whatsoever and it has nothing to do with imaginary hatred towards our country at all, take off your tin foil hat.

Wow ... haven't heard it until now, but Wintergatan sounds great! Such a great idea to work with this machine. :D

Have I said that people should worship our song? NO!
Also I´m not bothered by the result, 7th place is good, I have never demanded a win this year, I thought personally that Benjamin deserved more points from televote yes, but things are what they are. Although I didn´t like the reaction from the arena and press.

I only think that to not like the song is not an cause to spread hate on the artist and country...
Benjamin himself had said that he feelt the bitter attitude against Sweden in ESC, and that is not ok when the artist also feels it.

If you don´t notice this maybe you are the one who is delusional, feel free to look at other forums and blogs that writes about ESC to see how beloved Sweden is nowdays in Eurovision...

You seem so obsessed with that topic. Shouldn't we just leave it behind for good and move on?

She has been given three chances, with each one here entries became worse... although I do like her first two entries I must say xshrug

But no, 2019 better be Wiktoria's year, she did the contrary to many entrants did in the past and actually came back with a stronger entry on her second try (sort of like Loreen did as well), unfortunately she didn't win (which is due to juries unfairly downgrading her, she was #2 with televoters but only #8 with juries, wheres Robin Bengtsson was #3 with televoters but #1 with juries). If she will get an even stronger entry, she better win this thing because we need a female finally and she has the overall package.

Re: SWEDEN 2019

I finally would like to have Samir and Viktor at the ESC, they're my guilty pleasure ever since Bada nakna  They are such a likeable duo and they seem way more "natural" than Robin and Benjamin – och de sjunger på svenska ♥

Or Jon Henrik Fjällgren! Still salty he didn't make it last year, En värld full av strider was so magical.

I predict that in few years, we will see Mans Zelmerlow coming back to Eurovision as contestant, since he is always in ESC bubble, just like Alex Rybak.

Would Sweden finally defy the odds and send likes of Mahan Moin to ESC?
I am hoping for an ethnic native song like this ;)

I got quite excited by this idea and been thinking about it.

Arch Enemy, Halmstads stolthet, may not be as farfetched as it seems. I guess as Swedes Arch Enemy know Melodifestivalen very well, they probably even follow it with their kids, but participate as a band wouldn't even be present in their professional universe I think. They may, however, love to see their singer enter in some constellation. The legendary Angela Gossow has stepped down as a singer, now working as the band's manager and mentor for the new singer Alissa White-Gluz. Alissa is the former singer of the Canadian band The Agonist, but she has also strong connections with the American band Kamelot, which in turn has strong Scandinavian ties (Roy Khan, Tommy Karevik, Elize Ryd ao). In fact, Alissa and Elize toured together with Kamelot and seem to be good friends. (There's a lot of fun fact to look up here )

Elize Ryd should be familiar for a Melodifestivalen connoisseur even if you're not a metal fan as a songwriter and participant in Melodifestivalen 2015 in a duo with opera tenor Rickard Söderberg. The song, unfortunately, one of the victims of the infamous 2015 Melodifestivalen app introduction (which also killed Molly PH). A huge missed opportunity and closed the door to a significant part of Swedish music scene, one of Christer's major blunders.

Alissa White-Gluz is working on her own album when time allows, including as a songwriter and producer. She obviously has an ambition beyond the band and she always had. I have no idea if she lives in Sweden, I assume not, but she must spend considerable time here and also she being friend with Elize, Melodifestivalen couldn't be unknown. And yes, she can sing with a clean voice :D

Re: SWEDEN 2019

I don't know why, but I got this strange feeling that Agnes could consider doing Melfest. She did Så Mycket Bättre a couple of years ago and I think that is almost the same level of non-cred (that expression doesn't exist but I couldn't come up with a better one) as Melodifestivalen. She's still writing music and if they could convince her being an Eurovision interval act I can't see it being impossible to convince her about taking part in Melodifestivalen.

If she had a great song (which she probably would because I don't think she would do it if she didn't) it would be a great comeback for her, and it would create some buzz because she was quite successful around Europe for a while. If there was a given next swedish female winner of Eurovision, it would be her! One can dream:rolleyes:

Oh, I like her so much! She would be great to represent Sweden! :) But I am not sure if it is possible, because she is more famous than other contestants. :(

I'm pleased to hear you saying "Sweden is one of the most inoffensive and least controversial countries", because that is exactly what we want to be and hope to be looked upon as. And it may be true for most of the viewers of Eurovision around the world. Unfortunately it is definitely not true when it comes to the so-called Eurovision fan community. If you can recognise such a group that is. Sweden has its devoted fans and it has its slanderers, just as any other country in Eurovision. It is kind of part of the culture. But there are aspects and people that go way beyond that. When I as a devoted Loreen fan and just a casual Eurovision viewer, joined the forum 2012, I was surprised and baffled by the many strange peculiarities and weird ideas about Sweden lurking around the forum. I didn't like it a bit. It alienated me and still does. I understand people get annoyed by feeling singled out as "haters" when expressing critics, or that the issue seems to have been taken out of proportion. Just recogniose there's a darker side around and it isn't difficult to see it if you look for it. The tin foils belong to someone else.

Some people on our forums (Serbian, Croatian forums) have stated:"Sweden is the nation I hate on ESC the most!" So you and Swedenvision are quite right! :) They have said your songs are never good actually and are always overrated.. So fandom really does have some wrong attitude towards Sweden, even though everyone will deny it here or there. I guess, it is hard for people to understand that your production and music are among best in the world, and that is fact. I don't know why other countries should be jealous because of that, instead of celebrating that some countries actually could offer to them quality at ESC which is rare thing in this contest, most of the songs are pure low produced trash, in my opinion.
