Actually that's totally wrong, where did you even get that info from? Maybe that happened to you I dunno, but the standard is that you get your father's surname (in case there aren't any other requests or perhaps if the mother gets sole custody due to divorce settlements or something like that).
Ehm, perhaps you should be sure what you are saying before replying, you are totally off, in sweden and i repeat you get the mothers last name if nothing else is said or you parents dont have a common sirname, end of story.

If Sweden wanted a ballad they should have sent Ellen

Its like a repeat of 2008 where they rallied behind the juvenile "Empty Room" while they had a choice with the more sophisticated "That is Where I'll Go" by Sibel xfacepalm

If the parents have different surnames it states, but not when the parents are married and/-or using the same surname (in those cases it's still the most common that the women adopts their husband's surnames and therefor their kids will get their father's surnames too - exactly as I stated!).

Maybe your parents had different surnames?, well mine didn't and most people I know have their father's surnames xshrug

So it's not as if you're really correct (you're not totally wrong either though), it all depends on the situation... you can't just apply one family situation (non-married couples) on the realities of all xshrug ... so I guess we're both wrong and right depending on the family context xshrug

This is getting terribly off topic and im not even sure why you insist on not bothering to actually read what im writing, i said, if nothing else is said, aka, activly decided to take one or the others name, or, common name aka married parents (in which case many dont actually take the mans name today, you can find nice little statistics over this too if you browse around), else, default is mothers name, again, big discussion about clear rules that covers 99% of all ppl most likely, so im not sure which situations you are trying to fit in here that doesnt cover it.

It's indeed off-topic, but you use an example of where the parents don't share the same surnames, and as for married couples atleast it's STILL the most common that they share the father's surname (although yes, that is also slowly changing).

I responded because I thought you referred to a more general situation (which includes both married and unmarried couples).

I didn't even say you were totally off this time now that I knew what situations you actually referred to, but nevertheless it depends on the pre- situation xshrug

Anyhow back to the topic (not that there's much interesting to say on that at the moment ).

It might be Kempe's best ever Eurovision entry, but he has had FAR better ballads in previous Melodifestivalen editions...

Sarah Dawn Finer - Moving On xheart xheart xheart xheart
Linda Pritchard - Alive xheart xheart xheart
Peter Jöback - Hollow xheart xheart

They were all better than Undo IMHO... but Undo was the best Kempe option for ESC this year. ;)

Oh God, I think Kempe is pure kitsch... Undo is decent though...

I'm positive "Moving On" was 95% Sarah and only 5% Kempe and that's why it was so much better then everything else he has done

I don't like "Moving On" nor do I like Sarah's music... I think she should actually stay a hostess/ actress rather than singer... I mean she can sing but her material is weak imo.

I can believe that - why she sold it so well. Will never stop loving that song. I also hope that she hosts MF in future years again - she was the best!! xlove

I dunno, Kempe just has a keen ear for a great melody to me. It's very rare that I won't like a song that he has written. But I can understand why some people might be fed up with his style. I just hope that he continues writing for years to come, especially if the songs turn out like "Moving On", "Undo" and "Alive". xpray

I don't have anything against this song - it's alright. It does nothing for me tbh, but I don't hate it either. I doubt it's a winner and hope not since I would not like Sweden to win again so quickly, but it's definitely a top 10 song, or top 5. I guess it's a grower, I like it lot more now than I did when it was chosen a week ago. We'll see in May. I hope it doesn't win and don't believe it'll win but also don't think it will flop at all. I'm glad for Sanna though, she finally made it!

First of all, I'm glad for Sanna that she finally made it to the Eurovision Song Contest after all those years taking part in the Melodifestivalen. This year's edition of Melodifestivalen was incredibly weak. I follow Melodifestivalen for years now and for the first time, I had difficulties to watch the program in full, especially with those irritating hosts. But when I first heard Sanna's song, I knew she had a great chance to win Melodifestivalen. :) And look, she did. I am very happy for her and I am sure they will get a good result in Copenhagen. Lycka till, Sanna! xup

So is Dilara Kazimova the Ani Lorak to Sanna's Charlotte xthink

I just can't see this doing as well anymore now that other countries have picked far better ballads and most will probably have better stage acts as well xshrug

Norway will take all the top Scandinavian votes.....Azerbaijan is guaranteed to be top 10.....Armenia is far more modern and building hype.....and Spain's revamp is winning over previous dislikers xshrug

Where does Sweden stand now xthink

We should have chosen Ace xshrug

I'm still dissatisfied with this choice... but then again most of the stuff in the final and in MF general this year was bad and this is atleast a decent song...

I actually don't agree - and this isn't just because I'm swedish. This ballad is more catchy than the others because it gets stuck in your head and have a clear and strong refrain - besides from Azerbaijan which I'm very dissappointed with because of the very classy but dull song choice. The only ballad I think will fight about the same votes is Armenia because of its build up, but I think they will have complete different stagings and they are two completely different singers too so I don't think they will fight about the same votes even though they are more alike eachother than Azerbaijan and Sweden...

And I think the scandinavian votes will differ alot because in Sweden alot of music that sounds like the Finnish entry is very popular so I don't think every 12 points will go to Norway... And we can always hope that Denmark votes for Nielsen (sorry won't bring up that conversation again hah) ;)

I have to come out of the fanwank-closet and say that I don't like this song.

Could this song be more "Songwriting 101"? Lazy production, with no personal integrity at all. It has a catchy chorus, but you could also say that about Disney ballads. And I think the singer is uncharistmatic. Sweden can do so much better than this. I'm guessing a possible top 10 placement for this song, but that is the best I can do.
