So, Loreen enters the German Media Control Charts at...

1st PLACE!!!!

"Euphoria" reachs the first place just with downloads, means, without physical copy... that's very special in Germany, I think there aren't more thann 5 other artists who did that. And so the song is the 5th Eurovision song ever who reachs the first place in the german single charts: And the 3rd which is not from Germany and the first since Waterloo, which is also swedish

CONGRATULATIONS LOREEN :)

I think the people in Germany really love her as an artist. They play it on all radio stations;-)

Funny, I believe it's the totally oposite... Until today I heard it just once on the radio (but now it's on No 1, the radios must play "Euphoria" now) and the people see her at the moment as an ESC Artist - She has to bring another hit without Eurovision before the people start seeing her as an artist of her own. In Germany, it's very difficult... when you came from a Casting Show like "X Factor" or "Deutschland sucht den Superstar", you have no chance. The people just have enough of them... Eurovision is different, but first you have the mark "Eurovision", and you have to show that you can do more.
Also Lena is still the "girl who won Eurovision" - This year she wants to release a new album and then we'll see what will be then...

But I'm sure that Loreen has good chances now - Her first place in the charts is really something special, as I already said.

^ Great! :)

What about radio play? Do people associate her with Eurovision or as an artist of her own?

In the UK, she is obviously immediately associated with Eurovision as that is what brought her to the mainstream public's attention, but when her 3rd place was revealed on the the Official Top 40 show on Sunday, they simply announced it as a new entry by Loreen with the song "Euphoria" and then played the song... it was only afterwards that they mentioned she had won Eurovision with that song, so I took that to be them letting people make up their own mind on the song and the artist (they played a little intro sound bite of Loreen thanking all of her fans for buying the single as well) before tagging the "dreaded" (in the UK's eyes) Eurovision tag to the song.

I really hope she has extended success over here. The UK went crazy over Agnes a few years back and "Release Me" was in the charts for what seemed like months. Sadly, her follow up singles were badly promoted and go little to no radio play so her success was very short-lived. But Loreen is intriguing, and might just gain a few more fans with the success of Euphoria. Sadly, Radio 1 still refuses to add the song to their playlist, despite the chart success, so I predict it won't stay around for long :(

On June 21 Loreen is to perform at MTV World Stage i Göteborg together with among others Tove Styrke (2012-06-21).

Free translation of MTV article:
Today Tuesday, June 5, 2012, we release the final two performers for MTV World Stage in Gothenburg: Eurovision winner Loreen and Swedish pop phenomenon Tove Styrke. Loreen and Tove, together with Nelly Furtado and B.o.B will offer Gothenburg a free concert the city will never forget, a concert that will later be sent to hundreds of millions of households worldwide.

Since Loreen completely crushed all resistance in Eurovision 2012 in Baku, May 26, she has become one of the most sought after artists in Europe. Her Euphoria has taken first place in most European track lists, and apart from Euphoria will Loreen present new material from her upcoming album.

Tove Styrke has the past year been busy with her European release. On Friday, June 1, she put on a grand show at the big German festival Rock Am Ring. The New York Post has listed her as one of ten up and coming artists to keep track of the year. And we have, right?

So June 21, we all have a chance to work with Loreen, Nelly Furtado, B.o.B and Tove Styrke really show hundreds of millions of households around the world how a Swedish midsummer is, and should, begin. Are you coming?

Here is an interesting live concert with Tove Styrke from August 2011:

Livelöpet is an interactive digital scene on aftonbladet.se where concerts are live. During the concert, the audience can interact with both the artist and their facebook friends through a variety of touch as to clap, shout, like songs, take pictures and post on Facebook and swaying with lighters. You can even make out with any of the audience. The artist takes part of all interactions directly.
