Manboy and Kom are the only songs with a chance of winning esc. And it's not a matter of taste..
We must remember the jury votes in the big ESC, manboy and kom won't get any of those.
Why not? I think Timoteij has a great chance to be jury favorite in ESC? Even Saade can do well to since he has a up-tempo song. The many ballads will take vote from each other.
well, you must remember that the ballads in this years esc so far are really awful, so they wont take votes from each other..

besides..eric cant sing. we will be aware of that if he wins and has to manage without his playback support in oslo...

I do like his song, but I agree that he will have some major issues when no pre-recorded vocals will be allowed.

After all he has already admited to not doing that note at the end and it doesn't seem like that one should be all that difficult tbh.

Re: SVERIGE - Sweden 2010

Sorry for the double post but the starting order in the final has been announced.

1. Darin - You're out of my life
2. Pernilla Whalgren - Jag vill om du vågar
3. Andreas Johnson - We can work it out
4. Timoteij - Kom
5. Peter Jöback - Hollow
6. Ola - Unstoppable
7. Jessica Anderson - I did it for love
8. Salem al Fakir - Keep on walking
9. Anna Bergendahl - This is my life
10. Eric Saade - Manboy.

Ok, if we are to go by the usual standards of whom our head of delegation would like to see win, Darin and Eric is in luck and he does not like Pernilla it seems :p

Yeah Christer Bjorkman and Pernilla aren't the best of friends after Pernilla publicly criticized him when they invited Linda Bengtzing to sing "Alla flickor" in 2005, which Pernilla was originally suppose to perform. Though she must have gotten the last laugh in 2005 when Linda completely butchered the song live.

Also I think sending Eric Saade would be a huge mistake. This type of music obviously doesn't appeal to Europe from Sweden anymore and rightfully so, its quite dated. There are much better performers and singers to consider over this option.

Not as big as a one as sending Timoteij, but I don't think Eric can do the song well without pre-recorded vocals, hell he has already admited to not singing a part of it and that part can not be that difficult...

I think Eric might have been placed last because of the complaints about the stage being a bit dangerous by his co-competetors after his little water show. Maybe they want to avoid having the same complaints this time.

I don't think they need vocal lessons.

1. Their vocals are just fine for me. I think it's a matter of opinion or taste...
2. Rybak had very bad vocals in ESC 2009. He screamed more than sing. But we all know what in place he finished. I don't think the vocals are important. People vote for the song and charm.

Timoteij would be a fantastic choice for Sweden. :)

And unfortunatly for you we eurofans have had an awful track record for how we think my country will do these last two years, so I take your word with a big bucket of salt.

I can't really see that any of our songs would do well in eurovision, but a none-ballad one would be good.

We all have thoughts about what would do well or bad. ;)
But there were also people who though that The Ark, Charlotte Perelli and Malena would do well too and we all know the result

I believe Christer Björkman has a big responsibility on that! I feel like he manipulates the Swedes to make a choice that HE thinks it would do well in ESC. :|

As do I and he and the jury chooses the songs as well and I sometimes really wonder do we really got nothing better than that?
But yes, he does manipulate, at least our native juries, let's see what the international ones can come up with this year...

I wish they would stop all schlager songs from the competition since we already know they fail massively in eurovision.
Yes, I know the alternative name is Schlagerfestivalen, but schlager is dead.

Schlager isn't dead. The fact that schlager songs don't do well in ESC doesn't mean that they are bad songs. On the contrary, I believe Hero is an amazing song. ;) It's just a phase. Maybe in the future, Europe will want schlager songs back! :)

It is dead now, maybe not forever. We are chosing this years song, not one to send in ten or so years. Schlager is not bad, I like Charlottes song too. But we got to realise that if we do want a good placement we can not send one until Europe starts changing it's mind.

Yes, of course! I agree on that! :)
