Just popping in to upgrade from 10 to 12. Carry on with your days, everyone
I agree— JKabello was absolutely incredible! The song was top-notch, and that performance? Pure fire. And yes, the “slay queen” fanatics had their way, and here we are. Guess we’ll just have to vibe with the drama!I haven't dared to write here since Melody won, but what can I say, it looks like we decide worse year after year. JKabello had the full pack and something fresh and current from this decade, but hey the 'slay, queen' Melody fanatics decided this trashy song should be picked.
It's true I may be biased cause I cannot stand her. Her arrogance irritates me big time.
The thing is Benidorm Fest is more than eurovision. I know that its objective is to choose a song for eurovision, but since it began in 2022 it has been creating multiple commercial successes in Spain and in Latin America. Nebulossa, for example, was bottom 5 at esc but was a commercial success outside of europe. So as long as it is a viable place to showcase music and to promote it internationally it will still exists and be a successful contest. If the best Benidorm Fest can produce is this dated, charmless crap - then it won't last much longer.
I am confused. Where in Latin America was Nebulossa succesful? I don 't follow spoty charts, but as a latino myself i follow the media and never seen anything about them, apart from that one-off feature in a Gloria Trevi concert, but that never translated into a hit afaik To date, nobody knows who they are.The thing is Benidorm Fest is more than eurovision. I may have oversold it, tbh, Nebulossa reached #2 or #3 in the Global Viral Chart of Spotify for a week or so and it must have been thanks to latin america. I'm also aware that Benidorm Fest usually is a trending topic in multiple latin american countries, showing that there are people outside of Spain watching the show and likely also streaming the songs in the competition.I am confused. I think the problem with Benidorm the last couple of years is choosing songs that could do well in a Pride parade only.
I loved Zorra and love love love Melody, but it's pretty obvious that her song is not going anywhere apart from clubs in Chueca and Eixample.
