Again, could be personal bias speaking, but years one and two of Benidorm had some variety, especially the second one: Blanca Paloma, Agoney, Megara, Vicco, Karmento... Plenty of variety there, at lest. That appears to have gone forever.

As I said before, I can't stand this song but it's a fitting winner for this abysmal national final.
beni 1 and beni 2 had a different chief, eva mora. She was replaced after Blanca Paloma’s “bad score” by the former chief of delegation, ana maria bordas.

This is probably the worst best decision Spain could have made. Worst in that Esa Diva is more or less destined for the bottom 3 with pretty much no wiggle room for any better. The best in that sometimes picking a song is more than just thinking about its result at the contest (especially if you're part of the Big 5 where you can swallow the flop easier) and Esa Diva is just such a ridiculously fun, chaotic event. For people that enjoy these kinds of songs it's going to be a big, joyful moment experiencing the party and drama again on the Eurovision stage.

The song for me is maybe a 7 or 8 in all honesty. I don't really care if it's an outdated sound or whatever but it does lack a smidge for me in its chorus. Melody enhances the whole thing though with her performance and enthusiasm. It's just a really fun filled 3 minutes. :10: Points!

Yep! Who'd have thought the woman who gave us "Do it for your lover" would be the one to take :es: back to the Bottom Five?!?
At least she was responsible for one of the most iconic Eurovision moments of recent years

I enjoyed this national final and think we've ended with a strong entry. Crazy that Spain (SPAIN) is spending two years in the top echelons of my ranking. I'll give this a possibly generous :10: for now.

BUT let me be very clear that this is NOT going to make any scoreboard noise. Uh uh. Fanwank written all over it. Its placement will likely start with a 2 and not end with that same 2.

I still hold it against her that she didn't allow :de: to get a "triple" last place in Eurovision.
After finishing last in 2015 ("Black Smoke") and 2016 ("Ghost"), "Do It For A Lover" prevented us from getting a last place for a third consecutive year :( - by a margin of one point!!! Couldn't Portugal have showed a tiny bit more love for Manel?! :(

It all comes down to personal taste I suppose, but I'd apply this...

This is probably the worst best decision Spain could have made.
...to last year. (Actually, I'd swap round "worst" and "best" now I've looked more closely.)

Anyway, last year :es: was destined for the bottom but with a 50-odd-year-old woman putting "machista" men in their place. This year, it's a former child star screaming "I'M STILL RELEVANT!!!" twenty-odd years later and twirling her hair desperately.

(Now I've put it like that, I can see why some might like it, but it's not for me.)

As much as I would have liked RTVE to simply not invite this outdated thing to Benidorm Fest, this is 100% on fans. Televote supported what Spain thinks ESC is about, unfortunately.

Seems that Eva Mora is coming again to the final of Festival da Canção (after being there in 2023 and 2024). She is not Spanish anymore. xlmao

As a representative it may be solid and the package currently the most complete but it doesn't convince me at all. The song is terribly late with the years. It's a song from the early 00s. And I'm not convinced by the beginning where it gives me the idea of the French singer whose name I don't remember who rose above the Eiffel Tower.

I hate that once again a song wins where you can breathe an air of a powerful woman... I don't like that a woman always wins... I didn't like, although there have been general improvements, how the competition is still the prerogative of a restricted audience (the members of the Bubble) who drool over divas... And then the votes made me regret the demoscopic jury (which would have curbed the power of fandoms). On Melody she seems like a superficially humble girl but she has that veiled air of arrogance. Every word she pronounces is as if it were a gold nugget. As I said a few posts ago, she could be around the Top 16 at most if things really go well. Otherwise, you can only escape the bottom 5. I would have preferred Jkbello or Bun (massacred by the public). Even Mel, even if we are always on the diva and "I am a queen" genre, I would have liked her. Mel was the best together with Bun on the vocal side. In fact, I say that she was the most versatile manipulating the voice in different styles in an excellent way, she danced and interpreted.

Disappointed.

We did back in 2023 - you have to wait for another decade, I fear.
I like many German ESC entries, in different shapes and types!

My point was that this can be everything but bland and boring...you all feel free to dislike it of course, but to call it bland and boring..well..

I used to appreciate ethnic elements in the songs, but sometimes they seem a bit forced, as they do in this year's winning song from Spain. The performance was relatively good though. So I'll give it a 4.

Still, the best song would have been Lachispa's. But it didn't sound well live.

Please Paco.
There isn't a single element to save in this song. It is a complete failure.
The entire organization of BF is a complete failure.
We have discussed this question even last year but my opinion was totally confirmed with this edition.
Almost everything smelled amateurish.
Is it possible that 1/3 of the songs talk about being a diva, a queen or caliente??? Is it possible that this national festival has reached such a low level of quality?
Is this the best Spain could offer?
