I am thinking as many do here: Blanca's performance was actually incredible, but her song itself doesn't reach me in any way. And is a performance for televoters enough to vote? I might be wrong, but I don't see her in top 10 in May, rather somewhere between 10-15 and that is still good in my eyes, but here is a German speaking who would be over the moon to be somewhere between 10-15. 😂

Tumblr, mostly.
Spain should be over the moon with a 10th-15th range placement as well given their abysmal track record.

But yeah should Blanca win it'll be a Gustaph/Ester Peony situation where she objectively performs the best and wins on merit, but isn't the correct choice from a competitive or musical standpoint. It is much easier to fix a live performance than it is to revamp a song.

To some extent I feel like Blanca is the correct choice out of the favourites, by which I mean her current -ahem- Successpotential is higher than that of Agoney. I still prefer Agoney over her though, since, you know, Quiero Arder is a song?

Remember when Kataryna Pavlenko disguised herself as a bloodthirsty emu and the audience ate it up so much that it gaslit the jury into voting for Go_A, ideally the same thing happens to Megara as well :-) Spain sadly is not Ukraine. Such is the lot of the lesser nations.

My favourite is Alice wonder, so beautiful and original.
Not going crazy for Agoney, weve just seen this many times, but I think he is Spain's best chance at a decent result
If Blanca goes, theres no way Esc televoters will go for it, its a downer, very weird vibes

Twitter is in shambles over Blancas 'song'. It was literally my last place of the entire selection pre show, although i have to admit her performance was by far the best last night and deserved to fly through. That said it is by no means a winning song at ESC. 💀 The insanely high levels of irrational hype I'm seeing for it is to be expected from Spanish Eurofans but my god it makes me hate it more than I probably already do.

Alice Wonder was my favorite pre-show, but Paloma was THE moment. For me, it's a no-brainer who to send at this point. The song might not be everyone's cup of tea, I get it. But everything about it is jaw dropping, she commands your full attention and like I said, it creates a moment. That's what we ask for in Eurovision.

I don't understand the hate for Blancas song. Yes, it's not an easy pop song and more on the experimental side, so I guess it's not everyones cup of tea. Maybe it's just my music taste but I've been bopping to her song a lot. I like experimental songs. Karmento has a great performance but her song is just generic. Sounds like something that Spain would've send before Chanel. Agoney is nothing new. The song sounds outdated and has the potential to end in the Bottom 5 tbh. The performance itself is good but his vocals are weak and the song too. I liked it when I heard it the first time but mostly because of the intro. The rest of the song reminds me of something that Israel would send. I don't know. It really depends on the competition. He is hit and miss. Megara is cool and I think she would go Top 20 or even Top 15.

But Blanca is giving Top 5, tbh even lowkey winner vibes (I don't think they will win with her and yes it could also be a bomb). The song and the performance is a moment. They need to revamp the performance a bit but they should keep the staging with the circle. It looks cool and fits her song. She and Vesna are my favorites of 23 so far.

Blanca is my fave of this final but tbh I don't think she's reaching the top 5 in ESC, even if i love the song I don't really see her go higher than 12-16ish place in ESC final

I think in a normal year, Blanca could place anywhere between 13-18th place, in a strong year up to 21st, but in a weak year she could become the next Pastora Soler/Ruth Lorenzo and just make it into the Top 10.

Agoney could place anywhere between 5th and 25th in any year, he‘s Schrödingers ESC-entry. However, given the overall package, those two are the only really promising candidates results-wise. Alice Wonder could do well if she overhauls her performance, but she needs to work on vocals and the only thing I wouldn’t scrap from the staging are the lightning effects (although those too could be prettier). Generally I wouldn’t go for a well lit stage. Spot on her, ditch the piano and then work with a Light show that emphasizes the beat and lights up whenever Pinnacle moments appear to make it more dynamic, dramatic and impactful. Then she would stand a chance in eurovision, although probably not in BenFest

My ranking of the Benidorm final:

1. Blanca Paloma - Eaea
2. Agoney - Quiero Arder
3. Megara - Arcadia
4. Fusa Nocta - Mi Familia
5. Alice Wonder - Yo Quisiera
6. Vicco - Nochentera
7. Karmento - Quiero Y Duelo
8. José Otero - Inviernos En Marte

Any of the top 3 would be fine, don't really care for the rest. I don't think any of these songs can replicate Chanel's success though (I don't even understand how it happen in the first place to be honest)

I had a feeling that Blanca would be the one to knock it out of the park with the performance.

For me, out of all the artists, she was the closest to doing the Chanel thing with turning the song from "under the radar" to contender to win the NF.
I firmly think that she is the best choice.

She seems masterful at what she is doing that I think it will be harder for competition from other countries to outclass her in her lane than to outclass other artists in this NF whom I think have more work to do for improvement and their genres are much more wide spread, meaning they could receive bigger amount of competition.

Those are my two cents.

It's a pity that Fusa Nocta flopped, before the sf it was my favorite song and if she had managed to perform as good as Blanca Paloma did it could have been a strong contender in eurovision.

Glad to see all the complaining has died down. Benidorm Fest may not be perfect (glares at RTVE for starting these shows after 10:30 during the week despite the fact that they've been doing this forever) but we've got a really varied final coming up on Saturday and we're all having fun, aren't we?

I've (mostly) come to terms with the fact that Megara (and Karmentoxheart) aren't going to win, and I'll be happy with either Agoney or Blanca. From my point of view, at the moment both of them are good but flawed entries for Eurovision.

Agoney's is a banger, fun and he sings it well but I wish there was a bit more singing in it. Does it not feel weird that he basically doesn't do much after that final scream at the end of the bridge? Maybe it's just me. One more possible positive, though: maybe all those casual fans who don't know Siren Song might see it as out-of-the-box and original. Basically, I've no idea how this will do.

Blanca's stage performance was fantastic and I enjoyed it a lot, but I can't get over the fact that I would never set out to listen to this song. Could it win jury points on staging and vocals alone? It's not impossible. Can't see televoters voting for it over other entries, though, but I'd be delighted to be proved wrong come May.

If I have to choose, and choose I must, I'm going for Blanca. I'd rather Spain went all in on giving Europe a "what the hell was that?" moment if nothing else. ¡Olé Blanca!

There we go :

1. Blanca Paloma - Eaea : What a singer, what a performance, definitely the best one imo

2. José Otero - Inviernos En Marte : Yeah it wasn't his best performance but the song is still very good, I think it was good on stage
3. Alice Wonder - Yo Quisiera : I didn't really like it in studio but gosh that live got me

4. Karmento - Quiero Y Duelo : Good song, captivating performance

5. Agoney - Quiero Arder : I don't like the song but he's a hell of a good performer and I kinda enjoyed it live so yeah would be fine with that winning
6. Megara - Arcadia : Live was quite nice, wish the song was better

7. Fusa Nocta - Mi Familia : Am sad, the song is good but that performance was not good
8. Vicco - Nochentera : Not a fan of the song, bores me
